Subject: Bungie.next-Destiny integration

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

As many of you know, it has been stated by Bungie employees several times that Bungie.next (New Hawtness: dead kittens), will have an unprecedented level of integration with Destiny. What improvements would you guys expect to see and/or like to see? Better stats? Items only unlockable via the website? Purely aesthetic perks (such as the septagon from Halo 3/Reach)?

Personally, I cannot see Bungie ever giving website members an actual advantage over others, mostly because that never was their style (i.e. unlockables in Reach were only for looks), however, I would like to see some cool armor or nameplate or what have you for website members. Of course, this does not seem to fit the definition of "unprecedented," so I am thinking and hoping that there will be more to it.

I would enjoy exclusive offers, similar to the Seventh Column next to your GT in Halo. Different challenges and/or achievements on the site that would unlock excessive awards in game, etc.

What sort of awards are you talking about?

Butter my ass, turn around, spread open my butt cheeks, and say "Right here mutha-blam!-a!!"

Join Planetary Annihilation and Speed Haven

Renderable videos for free (paid for HD) similar to how Call of Duty's rendering system works. The bungie standard for amazing stats linkage. Using our BNet avatar for potential gamer picture (if they are in the game). some sort of watermarked emblem in multiplayer similar to the Bungie, septagon, and nameplates in the past games.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

I'd like for BNet integration to allow serious, hardcore players to be able to directly contact Bungie employees via an unavoidable instantaneous chat window that pops up and overrides anything they are doing at their desks or, if outside normal business hours, on their phone.

These chat windows will be available to BNet users even before anybody has had a chance to play the game, and will serve as an unprecedented way for teenage gamers to tell Bungie employees exactly what's wrong with their game (using helpful all-caps and multiple letters in a row for emphasis on salient points), since everyone knows that these folks are the most qualified authority on the subject.

I'm thinking something like this.

Well, that certainly would be bold of Bungie. Marching into unmarked territory, as it were.

I'm gonna laugh when "Bungie.next" just redirects Bungie.net to Bungie's Google+ page.

I came for Halo, but I heard the Tru7h, fought thru Carnage, and stayed for Bungie.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

In-game hats based on trust points, isn't it obvious?

While that would be a great feature, I'm afraid I don't see how it relates to Destiny. Something I would like to see is, assuming for a moment it is an MMO or even a four-player RPG, an ability to send messages to players from b.next (not xbl messages, but in-game ones) and check on the status of certain in-game events.

I love the fact that there isn't a close [X] button on the pop up. But to make sure that thoes pesky emplyoees don't responed with "Your MOM!!!" and cheat around the system. We would need to add a filter to those replies. Something along the lines of a word filter and a minimum of 77 characters for a proper response.

They should add a giant slingshot avatar prop only available to people who use the forums. Also an in-game emblem or something to recognize forum-goers ingame would be nice. But the avatar prop is a must have.

That's something we already had for the old Bungie games. What do you think will be new and original?

I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

We have become quite adapt at killing popup windows.

That way, racial slurs and invitations to orally imbibe genitals will go where they should: Directly into the eyeballs of people who are working on their game. Then, feedback can be used directly.
