I don't know what to think. I'm very doubtful about it. But I felt I had to share this with you anyway. I'm sure it will be only a sort of control screen while the only way to play it will be through an Xbox360.

If this is true (i stress the IF) then it will likely be a novelty thing like maps, menu's, equipment or hud. I doubt they will actually let you play the game, the article implies it's tablet based features too.

Halo 4 the game itself as it appears on 360 will probably not be playable in any shape or form on Windows 8 but there may well be trivial features available.

I swear they already addressed this at E3. I don't feel like going through tons of E3 footage to find it, though. It played a very small role in the game. Same sort of thing as Kinect did with Anniversary.

Hence the novelty features. A useless gimmick xD

Whether or not Halo 4 would work on windows 8 doesn't really mater. I just hope windows 8 doesn't suck or lack in features as it seems every 2nd windows OS has seemed to do, especially vista.

Windows 8 is different but in it's current state, it's of no use to me. Performance for gaming is lower than Windows 7 (but drivers could change this in time) and Metro is suited for touch screen monitors/tv's which i am not willing to spend some money on just yet. I should really have tried the consumer preview but given that Windows 8 is just around the corner, i'm not sure there's any point. I'll wait for user reviews :3

Well, for the most part, Windows 8 is the same as Windows 7 with the exception of Metro and the new Start Screen. But I have been using each preview release of Windows 8 for awhile now and I do believe that Windows 8 may be the most stable and compatible version of Windows yet. Compatible as in its driver architecture is much more universal to the point where I can plug in a new printer and it just works instantly. In Windows 7, I'd be forced to use the installation disc that came with the printer. I see that as a huge plus for Windows 8. Plus, so far, most games and software I've tested are still perfectly compatible with Windows 8 (including Halo 1 & 2).

That being said, if you already have Windows 7 and are satisfied with it with no complaints at all, then upgrading to Windows 8 won't be totally necessary for you. But if you're still on XP or older, maybe it's time to upgrade. I admit though that I still spend a lot of time on my Windows 2000 netbook (took forever to find the drivers). But anyways, the biggest benefit of Windows 8 I see is that it hopefully eliminates the need to have to install 3rd party drivers for devices.

No chance and they're not third party if they're made by the device manufacturer. ;)
