Now hold on, I think this "plasma grenade launcher" is a good concept with potential. I have a similar idea-I call it the Covenant Carbine Anti-Armor.
This device is a grenade launcher attachment for the Carbine that uses a new never-before-seen special kind of grenade that is lobbed at an arc(the launcher chamber accelerates the anti-armor grenade by a burst of energy), which is strictly meant to be short range so you'll have to compensate by placing your lob accurately to fire it at medium-ranged targets. I felt this new weapon feature attachment is necessary the Covenant doesn't really have any conventional infantry anti-vehicular weapon. Fuel Rod cannons aren't very common and Hunters are limited. Plus, the Anti-Armor attachment is awesomely cool. When fired on a vehicle or turret, the grenade projectile attaches itself to the vehicle on a two second fuse before enveloping the target in a field of energy that looks like tangy violet electricity. It effectively fries the vehicle, namely tanks and even smaller siege cannon artillery. The vehicle's occupant(s)'s health will steadily deplete. So there's two options. One is to bail out before you're killed(following destruction of vehicle), or stay in the vehicle and die. The Anti-Armor grenades only work on vehicles. If you shoot one at the ground or at a enemy on foot, there'll only be a short duration tiny flash of energy(but not to be thought of as a flashbang). You can toggle the anti-armor grenades by the black button on the controller just like switching grenades. There's Frags, Plasma Grenades, and Anti-Armor. Anti-Armor grenades are somewhat hard to find, and you can only carry three in the launcher only. Maybe there'll be some ammo dump in Halo 3 where there's a bountiful supply of it when you're in a massive level against alot of enemy vehicles. Spec-Ops Elites are the ones to typically wield a Carbine with the attachment, which they can use with precision accuracy and efficiency. A Elite could receive a relay from friendlies on the location of a nearby enemy tank and proceed to wait in ambush for it to come by. Note enemies can use it against you at any time with grim accuracy. Skilled users can even take down Banshees. The really evil thing about this weapon is that its greades has a similar effect to the Brute Shot. So you can shoot at an angle, have it ricochet off the ground or a wall to hit enemy vehicles. And unlike the Brute Shot, the Anti-Armor grenades don't explode after a ricochet.
That's my idea for a Covenant Anti-Armor attachment. Plasma Grenade Launcher-Not really necessary. But the Battle Rifle should have a Grenade Launcher that uses the Frag inventory.
