That's a quote from a recent breaking in I think?

It's from Chris Owen's Breaking In. I feel like it has no reason to be here.

I might not be on the right path at all, but here is a frequency analysis on the paragraph.

I'm glad I reloaded the page before posting, as I was about to do the same thing... Haven't found anything useful in there yet.

Edit: It should be noted that J and Q do not appear in the text at all.

81 75 02 74 81 26 in hex comes out to " u t &" in ascii or
81 75 02 74 81 26 as decimal comes out to " Q K J Q " in ascii

Also, do we know if the forum ninjas know what the answer is? One of them said something interesting earlier.

I put it into a decoder and discovered the puzzle resembles a Patristocrat. Here's what I got:

I feel like there are many words in there that we could easily solve except for the fact that they are hidden by numbers in the middle.

Hope this helps.

Anyone wanna help me turn this into a picture?

This is the picture we get from the ASCII used to find the last paragraph we discovered.

We used hex code to create the picture but obviously this doesn't produce anything worth while. We can at least eliminate this. Keep chugging.

Testing code is a cornerstone of the development culture at Bungie The experiences we design ship when the Testers give us the green light They support every aspect of the process that goes into creating the games you play They show us the where the weaknesses lie and point out the cracks By the time you get your hands on one of our games its been given a thorough beating by guys like this

What is this?

I googled part of the code and it came to this...

Inline12 was in the url so I googled line 12 of the code and it said this...

If you are using FF and "view image info" there is attached data (data:image/png;base64,blah blah blah). Does this have anything to do with solving it, cause DeeJ said the clue was buried within the photo or I could be completely off.

"Here, take my handkerchief."
Hoofin' it bare-chested since -blam-

Been following this thread since yesterday evening; great work so far, community! Great puzzle, Bungie! (In the future, we'd best be careful not to solve these things too quickly...)

I have some chores to tke care of, but will then bring my Java skillz to the table after lunch (Pacific Time), if this hasn't been solved by then. Walking the dog this morning, I thought: Converting 1's to 7's in the entire message wouldn't be a feasible path, but maybe we should only focus on converting certain words, or pieces of words? The puzzle engineers could have created a hint (or the answer) and encoded it into specific words or word pieces, then worked those words into the paragraph that y'all have worked so hard to decipher.

If the Code Breakers are willing, I'd enjoy a pm telling me how to get in touch with the skypers. Otherwise, I'll hack away at it on my own... but the community is smarter than any individual.

Everything with the photo (or for now at least) is done for now. We need to focus on the riddle now.

The morning has arrived, and yet no one has solved the puzzle just yet. This is by far the hardest part of the puzzle, and I promised that, should it remain unsolved to this point, that I'd give a few more pointers to it.

I'd like to call out what Beorn attempted on Page 13:

Posted by: beorn
I think I've been looking at this too long... The only way I'm seeing "7" or "0" in the text is if I look at the ASCII-encoded version:

This so far is the closest anyone has gotten to cracking the puzzle. However, the block of numbers he's using is incorrect; there are way too many sevens in that cipher to be correct. However, the idea behind this approach is close. Oh so close. Anyone keen on solving the puzzle should look at that approach.

Specifically, you'll know you have the right re-encrpytion of the message when you have exactly 91 sevens and zeroes in it. (That's 91 sevens and zeroes combined, not 91 sevens and 91 zeroes, for clarity's sake.)

Those 91 characters are then important somehow and will lead you to the actual solution of the puzzle. To figure out what to do with them... well, you'll need to go back to read the English version of the text. It should tell you what to do.

I have a question for you or anybody that can answer this.
How did you get the colors to say this....
First convert the hexadecimal to binary. Then, regroup the bits into chunks equal to our favorite number. Finally, read as ASCII.

Thanks for the explanation that actually makes sense.
