Subject: Does the bungie blog make your computer crap itself?

This thread would have appealed to me more if it was written with crayons.

I broke one of the cords for my X11s because I couldn't get past the final American course in Doritos Crash Course.

I have a laptop which is about 4 or 5 years old which probably doesn't help matters, but whenever I go into Bungie's news page my computer seems to struggle a little.

I mean, there is a lot of information to load just for one page so being able to properly navigate it takes a little while, and may god have mercy on my little laptops soul if I try and play a video which has been linked.
Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or if I should just invest in a new laptop (by invest in a new laptop I actually mean keep this one and just deal with it)

It even lags up and freezes my Chrome for a few seconds on my Asus G73SW, and I have a pretty good internet connection.

It's ridiculously and unnecessarily long and annoying.

No problems at all.

It happened to me twice today but I had a lot of tabs open. I use Safari (no laughing, I got used to it and now it's my home).

The blog page is awful on my iPhone, you can't scroll while it's loading because it constantly auto scrolls to the top. Even after it loads it will occasionally scroll me back to the top for no apparent reason.

Fine on computer. On phone if freezes for about 5 seconds while it loads.

Oh yeah, that happened to me quite a lot in the past, quite annoying, hasn't happened to me for a while though.

  • 09.07.2012 8:31 PM PDT

Yeah. It generally takes me about a minute or two to load the page, and even then scrolling is difficult so I have to use the arrow keys to do it, and if I want to switch tabs it's more time consuming as well.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Yeah, it takes a few good seconds to load.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

Bungie.Match.com: Our Johnson knows what the ladies like.

Whenever I move the little wheel, it takes my computer around 10 seconds to respond.

I have to do this every -blam-ing time.

Ha! this too, it eventually loads and then it takes you away from the page. When you forget to right click any links its an instant facepalm.

Yep its really annoying, its comparable to the waypoint forums. They should do something about that.

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I feel like it's because the Mail Sacks are only 1 item each and therefore they don't start a new page when there are several of them (I'm assuming a new page is started after a certain number of entries have been made).

The mail sacks even though they are only 1 item are often long and have a lot of embedded images and videos so it's a lot for a computer/internet connection to process.

Fix your -blam!- Bungie!

This entire site has been really slow for me over the past 2 weeks or so. I don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Nope

If there is one thing on this site that needs an overhaul, it's the Blog area. Bungie, would it just KILL YOU to shorten the page down?

  • 09.07.2012 11:24 PM PDT

Yes.

Going to the Bungie blog is a great way to -blam!- up my ten year old computer.

Yes, my cheap little Lappy can't handle the stress I put on it during those Mailsack challenges, and locks up. Anyway, I'm actually sort of surprised it wasn't only me.
