I dont know, but i had always wanted to be able to remove the chain gun off a damnge wort hog and use it as portable weapon. I know it would be heavy to carry so maybe the chief would have limited movement and speed. No jumping and only moving at half speed. Also the chain gun would be limted to 500 rounds and no reloads. Juts the chain gun. The cheif can only use the gun when his hog has been near to complete damaged. What do you guys think?

But i do think it's a great idea. I mean why not. Wouldn't the MC use everything at his disposel to win?

because it is wayyyy too powerful

toning it down would also hurt the perfectly balanced hog so i say no, it worked for PDZ, but would not work for Halo

Sounds cool, in a Preditor sort of way. Like the guy said above though, it'd all have to balance somehow. Maybe as a campaign-only weapon. And you've also got the issue that ppl would be damaging hogs just to rip the chain-gun off. Interesting thought however.

Haha, lets not get any ideas from the movie Predator (starring Ahnold), where they have a portable Minigun in the movie.

Or at least maybe the option to use the chain gun would be only avalible in given circumstances. So every time your hog gets damnged you cant always take the chain gun off.

Don’t get mad if I flame you because you cannot spell, or because my three year old has better grammar and etiquette than you.

I always thought you should be able to move the turrets, not the ones on the vehicles, but the stationary ones, you would in Halo CE anyhow, flip em around to where they would be more usefull.

I dont get why in game Johnson could move and set them up but why MC could not.

If not the chain gun from the wort hog about about using the stationary machine guns, those aren't heavy.

for balancing it, make the gun overheat and have limited ammo. and no reloads

That's a totally different discussion. That's been done to death I might add.

they have a stand for a reason, the recoil from the guns would throw back even chief

moveable turrrets, yes, but not shootable when they are not on the ground

one more thought, you would need a marine to hold your ammo and help feed the ammo in the gun. That way it would be very difficult to use the weapon given the marines die so so very fast.

but it is unlimited and doesnt overheat on the hog.....
so in order to make it limited, when it was on the hog it would have limited ammo and overheat

you cannot have the guns removeable because they would be too powerful on foot or worthless on the hog

hey wait just a min here. I am just expressing my thoughts if you did not like the topic you did not had to answer. I was only asking people who would be intrested in my idea. Would you still call my idea dumb if bungie acctualy used my idea in the game. Who knows maybe you would might like it your self

would it be dumb to use a gun like in a battle where your death is certian to come. I would use anything. rocks, sticks whatever. People always frown upon things that are not common. Sure a chain gun is not common as using it as an handheld waepon, but it is possible. You may fly back a hundered feet from the recoil but think how many dudes you killed with the beast of a gun.

I think you're getting waaaaaay too involved here. You do realise this is just a game right? and that you aren't ACTUALLY "in a battle where your death is certian to come." Jeeez guys get a life.
And for the record it is a stupid idea, and if bungie did use it, it would be heckled. and thats why they won't. get over it
