Like a dozen people have said before, and I'll say it again , IF YOU DON"T LIKE IT, DON'T USE IT!!!!! this isn't a damn painting, it's a game and unlike a painting a game has these little things called options.

This [discussion] doesnt effect the development of the game in any way, so calm down. Its not like we are going to get it put in or taken out by simply talking about. I don't want it in because i dont think it follows what they have done in past games.

If Halo 3 comes out and does not have a bot option or a map editor i hope you don't ever end up playing it.

I'm going to buy Halo 3 no matter what is in it, but if it ends up not having great new features in it and faling short of the hype i.e. Halo 2, then at leat I can say I tried, and you people that argue against addind things into the game are only hurting the situation. If you really want a great game, then why hold it back, how about encouraging ideas instead.

I fear change, and i like Halo and Halo 2. I don't prefer to have something come in that changes the game dramatically. lets just let it go, im sick over argueing on and off.

Hey people, I dont exactly know what you guys are specifing on right now but hey, I only read the subject.

I think map editor should be in Halo3. Why? It gives people a chance to express themselves. Yeah, people might think its a nerds dream, but it really gives people potential to express their idea of a balanced map. You remeber how everyone says stuff like, "Hey get that sniper and we'll pwn these guys!" Almost all maps are like that, rockets, sniper, sword, whatever. Also, the map editor can be used differently by different people. For instance, some people might see a closed trucker container as a wall, while someone else sees it as a platform to a building to stand on whatever. I also keep hearing people say it would take forever to load these maps. Well, if it takes to long to load these custom maps don't play them! Play matchmaking and shut your mouth. In "Far Cry Instincts" on the xbox, it took maybe 5 minutes at the most to load some custom maps. Like you people who are writing these posts who play 5 hours a day dont have 5 minutes to spare? And think about it, on the Xbox it took a little bit to load. Now we have these powerful Xbox360s. If you dont like custom maps vote on it please, don't post the same couple reasons over and over. Oh, and in "Far Cry Instincts". the custom maps were a big hit. Finally, I think map-making should be in Halo 3, and I think Bots would be good to help new people(noobs) practice.

Okay, this topic is pointless.

Like it or not the majority of the community wants Bots and a MapMaker incorporated into Halo 3. They want this because it improves the game. It increases the replayability of the game, and the fact is you're not going to have Xbox Live forever, and when you do eventually leave the online community you will still be able to use the multiplayer feature of Halo 3 without it going to waste. Including bots would also help the filming industry. For those who do not have Xbox Live or are tired of the Modders, Hackers, and people with -blam!- attitudes can leave and still enjoy the goodness of multiplayer against some crazy bots while they cool down.

Now, with the MapMaker, I agree that we don't need it. It would increase the replayability of the game but it is a feature better suited for a PC. Hopefully Bungie will add options like the time of day and weather to the map customization in Halo 3 so we won't need a map maker.

Bots though, there is no reason not to have them. They were going to be included in Halo 2 but had to be dropped due to time constraints. Bots aren't trying to take over the factor of vsing people. It could be a fun to have a group of guys and fight against bots in a multiplayer game. There could even be new gametypes centered around this. The simple solution if you don't want bots, is turn them off.

I honestly don't see why someone wouldn't want bots in Halo 3, there is no logical reason not to have them, it is only adding to the multiplayer experience and making Halo 3 a better game.

There should be no bots.

There should be a map editor. If it has a map editor, there is no chance Halo 3 will ever get old. Tired of the old maps? Just build a new one and boom, unlimited replay value.

i agree with the map maker. it is a stupid idea. however the bots i think would be a good thing to have in halo 3. having bots would be good because someone thats not very good could in something like the snipe rifle, also when i go to my freinds house i bring my xbox because he doesn't have one. and it would be fun to play halo with him and it not just being one on one every single time. however the bots on XBL would be bad. so no bots online but bots off line.

For one thing, being a student varies around the USA. Here, almost every student stays up until 2:00 to 4:00 getting homework done. This is a public school. We start as soon as we get home. That is an average 20 hour work day.

I had no problem with what you wrote, other than when you ranted about how "a kid in school with a ton of free time" has more time than you. Seriously, you can make all the statements you want, but don't insult of a whole generation of people like that. We all have things to work through. In fact, I would imagine that when I grow up things may get easier than that year-long 20-hour-a-day work week.

To some point I agree, there are Pros and Cons to your Argument. I think that there is a "Middle-Ground" that can be reached. Some of us have played Perfect Dark Zero the bot function in my experience worked very well, whereas, the multiplayer function in its entirety did not. (smirk)

First off I think that bots are a good idea in the function that some poor "people" have one of the following situations, No Live, No Broadband, or simply no friends. So for these people I think that bots would work perfectly. They would be able to start bot games and be able to have some fun with Multiplayer but not really experience all it has to offer.

On the other hand in perfect dark I joined far too many '12-15 Player" games, only to realize that I was the other human besides the host. So I think bots should be included for OFFLINE purposes only. (AKA, ONLY for LAN parties, and single human Games.)

On the Map Editor topic I had the same problem much too often. On Unreal tournament and Counter-Strike half the games I would join were using a user created map that I had to download prior to connecting and joining the match. Almost every time I did not have the patience to wait 2-4 minutes for the map to download. And if I did download the map the game would have ended or have become full, or change game types to a game I did not originally want to join to play.

I think there is a solution that would provide a compromise for both parties. these would be the rules I would apply to the situation

User created maps could only be used for LAN Party games, unless they were verified by Bungie, what I mean say is; have a small Bungie testing program where either Bungie provides a testing service where they only test a certain number of maps in a month at their discretion.

A less popular but more viable option none the less is to have Bungie incur a nominal fee to test a users submitted map. Not much, probably not even enough to cover testing expenses. but it would serve a more mediatory function. Making users pay a small fee to have their maps tested would discourage most of the testing traffic, because people won’t want to pay for a map that they know will probably be scrapped, but if there isn’t a fee everybody would send in all their maps and it would be impossible to have any sort of workable testing process. Basically I think fees would discourage swarms of bad maps being sent in for a useless test.

Please give me feedback on these Ideas,

P.S. marsman0013 it’s nice to see somebody on a forum who cares about grammar and spelling

This man has a good point. I wouldn't want to wait three minutes to get into a custom game with map that looks like it was made by a five year old. Most Far Cry maps are either:

Race to the top of a giant, mile high stair case.

Floating platforms hundreds of feet above the ground with no discernable way to hide.

Hugely unbalanced maps where one team starts with all of the weapons while the other starts with basically nothing.

Other equally stupid ideas that are absolutely no fun to play.

I really do not want to see a mapmaker in Halo 3, at least not one with online availability. If there is going to be one, I will never have as much fun playing custom games as I did in Halo 2.
