I never really thought about it that way either. Just think about how many accounts have been created, we are a part of a very small percentage.

Кланяються мені!

I thought about it when I read about the Bungie.next business last week. I am certainly looking forward to what the future holds for us who stayed true through it all. This also makes me wonder what will happen to those who only pop their heads in once in a while just to see if the lights are back on. I can certainly see a handful of new-old faces popping back in here when the lights are finally back on.

Your time has come.

In the next 5 years I will be a cop its my long term goal.

Not really a Bungie fan they just have great forums I like them the same as other devolpers.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

I think Bungie is a great company and I wish them the best in all their future endeavours, but I'm here more for the community. Not saying I won't check out Destiny, but that's hardly my primary focus.

The concept of saying that we're the hardcore fans because we've been waiting through the darkness can apply to any other period of darkness since ODST was teased. The only different thing about this period is that we literally have no idea what the new IP will be. I won't consider anyone a hardcore fan if the only darkness they've had to endure was this one. Let me know when they've sat through the post-Halo 3 era, the ODST darkness, the Reach darkness, and this darkness.
I think you're looking to be negative more than you're looking to positive. Stop adding to the age/cynicism argument. As I mentioned, we have become quite self-sufficient. That has to count for something. We are enjoying one another presence and making this period of darkness into an experience all our own. Only we will have this experience. In that way, I think it makes us, the ones who are here day-in and day-out, hardcore.

No, I'm actually not being negative. What I'm saying is that it's going to be hard to consider some members 'hardcore' or any other terms you want to use, when this was the only darkness they've been through. While the past darknesses had their differences with this current one, they were still some form of blackout. Without those past periods putting the current one into context, I don't feel as if newer members can truly say they're hardcore, if this is the only type of darkness they've experienced.

At least Bungie tries to entertain us during the Darkness. So its bearable. I can't think of other developers that do this for their fans. Hence why Bungie > Other developers

I can see it now.

"You're not a true fan if you didn't live through the darkness."

I can see that too. We will have a whole new level of Elitism. "I joined in 2010 I R TRU Bugnie fan!"

I can already imagine the amount of threads people will make about it.

Mainly we are devoted since we post here, not the Flood, and we are still having fun in the dark.

Hello! I'm Bunie.net's resident medical student (hell i'm sure there are more but I'm the only one who openly declares it!) I love my emblem, and I am periodically active.
I have a Twitter

I don't come here enough these days to be accepted into this group of people, but I do appear every now and again, so i am a big Bungie fan, not the greatest though.

You imply a level of control over Halo: Reach matchmaking that we no longer have. Or, in your vernacular, it isn't our shiznit anymore.

Not really rewarding us is it.
If it is a good game then it is a good game and Bungie will profit from sales. People who buy the game don't have to be members of Bungie.net so releasing something good and saying "There you go. That is your reward" is like giving cake to the whole class because two of them know their 7 times tables.

Actually not even that. It isn't 'giving' at all, its like selling cake to the class

Communism at it's finest lol. We aren't entitled to anything, but if I get something from Bungie for being a member on their site through the darkness, then I would be forever greatful.

urk: "This is a bad idea."

So does this mean all those who come after the darkness are our slaves? Kind of like how everyone post Halo 3 was a slave? Are those post darkness going to be the slaves of our slaves?....

I'm going to need more rooms.

This...I hate it when people feel entitled to stuff. I hate when people complain on Bungie day. Some Bungie days we get better stuff then others but still I don't see why people complain. What they give us is free even if its just a wallpaper. They didn't have to give us a damn thing. If they give us something of little significance on Destiny then they still gave us something and it will still put a smile on my face.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I did just right now, because you said it.

  • 09.09.2012 4:34 PM PDT

I'm a fan, but not a hardcore fan.

  • 09.09.2012 4:36 PM PDT

Brownie lives!

"10000?"

Yep. Feels good, man. Bungie knows it, too.

I don't really think that any Bungie fan is more "hardcore" than another for just being active on the forums while we're in this so called darkness phase, but that's just my opinion.
