Subject: Have you yet come to this realization?

Here I am, laying down on my bed, posting away on Bungie.net as I always do when I am hit with a sudden epiphany. What is that epiphany you ask? Well, I might as well tell you since you've asked. We are the most hardcore Bungie fans out there. While this may seem inherent to some or not at all to others, let me explain. I have not fully explained my epiphany.

We are the ones that are here, the ones braving the darkness day-in and day-out. We are going to be the ones who can look back a few years from now and say, yeah, that was the committed "us" that stuck it out and waited for Destiny.

We are going to be the fans that Bungie saw were patiently waiting, devoted to their company and able be around even though we are basically a self-sufficient/self-sustaining unit that is keeping the flicker of the lightbulbs on. When all the lights come on, there will be happiness, rejoice and praise amongst us (not to mention new members and a new look). So, relish this time, it won't be here forever.

TL;DR: That is my realization/epiphany. We are the devoted fans of Bungie that will be looked on with a little bit more of a proud eye from Bungie come Destiny time; we will have experience all our own.

Have any of you Screws had thoughts/realizations like mine?

I'm a fan of Bungie games, but I really wouldn't be here much these days if not for private groups.

Seems a bit optimistic. Maybe a few months from now.

OT: I haven't really ever thought of this before, but I suppose it's true.

I'm definitely not a hardcore Bungie fan. I've only played Halo 3, ODST, and Reach.

In a time long past, the armies of the dark came again to the lands of men. Their leaders became known as the fallen lords, and their terrible sorcery was without equal in the west.
In 30 years they reduced the civilized nations into carrion and ash. Until the free city of Madrigal alone defined them. An army gathered there, and a desperate battle was joined against the fallen
Heros were born in the fire and bloodshed of the wars which followed and their names and deeds will never be forgotten

I am not hardcore enough

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

Does that mean I can haz recon nao?

Bye.

Are you talking about the community forum regulars or everybody who's on the site?

The people who come to this thread, read it, and "get" what I am saying. That is who I am talking about.

At least Bungie tries to entertain us during the Darkness. So its bearable. I can't think of other developers that do this for their fans. Hence why Bungie > Other developers

I am not 100% sure what you mean, but this time is different. There is no arguing about that. We are about to delve into a whole new realm of Bungie and according to them, "how we game."

I notice the ones in which you speak about "Hardcore Bungie fans" seem to be on the Mythic side. Since the darkness I have noticed Mythic members the most. Before the darkness there were so many people on here that Mythic members seemed rare.

Anyways interesting thought/realization.

The concept of saying that we're the hardcore fans because we've been waiting through the darkness can apply to any other period of darkness since ODST was teased. The only different thing about this period is that we literally have no idea what the new IP will be. I won't consider anyone a hardcore fan if the only darkness they've had to endure was this one. Let me know when they've sat through the post-Halo 3 era, the ODST darkness, the Reach darkness, and this darkness.

Bye.

I can't say that this applies to everyone but I know that I come here because it's just become a routine for me over the years. I launch the browser and go to Bungie, Facebook and YouTube.

I suppose I could be viewed as a "hardcore" fan since I visit the site most days, but I wouldn't necessarily say I'm here because of my hardcore fandom but instead I'm here because of my appreciation for the community. There's an established community here. If I want to have a chuckle or a laugh, I can get it here. If I want to read a deep, well though-out thread, I can get it here. Saying that I come here solely for my love of all things Bungie is slightly naive. Sure, I came for bungie, but I stayed for the lame jokes.

When the site is finally light up with information regarding destiny, there will definitely be some kind of admiration from the employees. I mean, we were able to maintain ourselves without completely dying with very little to talk about for 1-2 years? That's a quite a feat. It must make the employees smile, if even just a little bit. :-)

I think you're looking to be negative more than you're looking to positive. Stop adding to the age/cynicism argument. As I mentioned, we have become quite self-sufficient. That has to count for something. We are enjoying one another presence and making this period of darkness into an experience all our own. Only we will have this experience. In that way, I think it makes us, the ones who are here day-in and day-out, hardcore.
