It's common knowledge that the quality of posting on the Bungie.net forums, especially while Bungie is dark, is sometimes lacking. This isn't surprising; this community features an extremely wide range of ages, so the content of what we post should be expected to vary dramatically.

With that being said, I like to think that with age comes some wisdom. There currently is nothing in place that records a user's literal age, and for privacy reasons it should remain that way. Luckily for us, there already exists a system that (theoretically) tracks one's time and general behavior on Bungie.net: forum titles.

If we assume that the older members of this site are the most wise, and they generally are, then it can further be determined that, given the forum title system, said members are already designated as such in the public forums.

The Mythic Members.

Unfortunately, a common trend I can personally attest to witnessing is the migration of older members into private groups. While I wont state my own opinion, many Mythic Members seem to feel that, as older members of the site, more is expected of them. Because of this, the rules are enforced more harshly upon them. There's essentially a target on the backs of our top tier of members.

The fix I'm proposing is that regulation be loosened for those members who obtain Mythic status.

Mythic Members are inarguably the content creators on these forums. Even when a user of a lesser title group manages to create a quality thread/post, especially here in the Septagon, it's usually a rehash or direct reference to an older thread, most likely created by a user that is now mythic. Mythics essentially enable younger and less experienced users to create quality posts.

In fact, it may be more beneficial to cut down on nonsense and enforce moderation on non-Mythic Members even more rigidly, so they have only the example of Mythic posting to influence their own habits.

By loosening the reigns on the blue bars and knuckling down on non-Mythics, the quality of posts Mythic Members create will trickle down and influence the legendary, heroic, and ordinary members of this site, benefiting all.

Mythics are the content creators, so they should be free to do so for the greater good.

Es ist Zeit für einige Gefahr-pay

No, so.. "We feel we are being treated unfairly so treat us better than everyone else"

It's like swapping out discrimination for discrimination.

  • 09.08.2012 1:35 PM PDT

So what you're saying is that Mythic Members are moderated harshly while non Mythics aren't? I don't agree with that, I never see a Mythic Member get into trouble yet I can't seem to stay out of it, even when I was Legendary.

There are legions of former-Mythics that would say otherwise.

Also, if you really can't stay out of trouble, perhaps a bit of Mythic guidance would help.

I've never been a Mythic Member so I wouldn't know, but most Mythic members I do see never get banned.

GOAT

So.. to promote discussions, the mods should bend the rules in our favor.

I'm okay with it. However I don't exactly know of any topic that we aren't allowed to post that would also revive this forum if we were suddenly granted permission to discuss.

Why isn't primo a mod? Every thread he posts is genius.

This is the single greatest idea for moderation this forum has seen in over a generation.

If Mythic members never get banned, why aren't all Mythics Exalted?

  • 09.08.2012 1:57 PM PDT

This is why I support the Blue Hat Party. We don't want to have Achronos bail out Mythix again. Play Nice was a direct result of a lack of Mythic intervention.

I don't see mythics get banned that often, and when they do they deserve it. When they are banned, just a few months later they jump back to Mythic anyway.

Most Mythics are actually normal human beings but there are the odd few who let them selfs down making all the mythics look bad. All it takes is one bad sheep.

Arbitor, meet Delta. (Above)

Delta is one of many countless victims of the current administration's undeclared war on B.net's top percent.

Haha, yes i've seen delta in black and blue. I'm sure that when he was banned he deserved it, if not then pick it up with the Ninjas. I have never been banned because I obey by the rules.. execpt back in 2010 when I was warned twice for posting threads in the wrong forums but to be fair I was new to posting at the time.

  • 09.08.2012 2:16 PM PDT

Doesn't mean they were never banned before they became Mythic.

As Primo said, look at Delta. Or Helveck. Plenty Mythics have lost their blue.

What are the actual odds that Sir Fragula would have been online otherwise?
Conspiracy, bro.

The most dangerous gunslinger in the west.

It's a never-ending cycle, isn't it?

There isn't as many posts because many people have left since Bungie isnt Halo anymore. This is expected. Once the new game is released, more people will come. Trying to fill the forums with threads for the sake of activity won't help anyone.

Be patient Mythics, your beloved B.net will eventually return to good activity, and then you can start feeling good again.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.
