Subject: Thoughts on improving the quality of posting and general content

I never see a Mythic Member get into trouble

I got a warning for going around the swear filter yet I see people get away with it constantly. I don't blame the ninjas they're just doing their jobs but being mythic does sort of make you a target. I try not to break the rules now.

By loosening the reigns on the blue bars and knuckling down on non-Mythics, the quality of posts Mythic Members create will trickle down and influence the legendary, heroic, and ordinary members of this site, benefiting all.

Mythics are the content creators, so they should be free to do so for the greater good.
Trickle-down doesn't work, and the upper class doesn't create content, demand creates content.

See what I did there?

But seriously, I have never tried to reach the post quality of mythics when I was a younger member because some of them are total dolts. I'm more likely to make a quality post if people want to discuss the areas I'm happier to discuss. Sadly, those areas aren't allowed in the public forums. :(

I hope she chokes to death.

10/10, I'd have been trolled if I didn't know the OP. Would read again.

This was pretty good. A refreshing read, that's for sure.

Primo, you're wrong. The small users of this forum, the small posters, are the real content creators. They build those posts using the building blocks of news articles & the quotes of their idols.

Primo, somewhere along the line somebody gave you a hand up, a wonderful post, a great thread or a friendly mod. Somebody created this unbelievable forum that is Bungie.Net that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested their time in the replies you've replied to & the threads for which you have replied in. If you're a Mythic Member, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together as a community.

I lol'd at the absurd miscommunication that occurs whenever dibbs post something. Perhaps his brain is so highly evolved that he can no longer clearly communicate with lesser life forms, even among his own species.

So long as I get to be the Robespierre of this little analogy, sure.

Just don't be surprised when those blue tinted ivory towers of yours come crashing down.

Wait, I need to add fuel to the flame. Um... um...

Oh! Mythics should get an extra spam cut. The new spam filter rate should be:

Members - 10 minutes

Heroic Members - 12 minutes

Legendary Members - 15 minutes

Mythics - 1 second

Bye.

Mythics should be exempt from bans and warnings.

That's a pretty solid idea, I hope they've added it to bungie.next.

Warning?
I got banned for it, and I didn't even do it properly.

Conspiracy!

So, you think smurfs - I mean, Mythics should be given slack from Ninjas so it will encourage any none smurf to post more quality threads? Hmm, I wonder why people think we have elitist problems here. And quality is what you make it to be. Everyone has different expectations.

I'm not sure that Primo has ever looked at the stats from another forum before, because they quite clearly show that you get a much higher standard of posting across the board if you have much stricter posting regulations on everyone.

To further expand our post quality, Mythic Members should be allowed to collectively control the front page. What better to improve what you see on a daily basis? Lets call this feature Mythix United.

The thing I find the most offensive is when these regular members screenshot times when Mods abuse their power. It's against everything we based this website on. In fact, you know what those screenshots are? They're webpage-tapping. That's what they are. Anyone who posts a screenshot of a mod abusing their power gets a 7-day ban from now on. Who's with me?

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

The blue hat party is the backbone of this forum. I agree with OP. Its kind of like a zoo and mythics are the lions.

Couldn't agree more, OP. We need to be given the freedom to lead other members to enable them to become quality posters, not have targets on our backs.

Absolutely not. History proves again and again that when we free posters from the restrictions of heavy-handed regulations and encourage free competition of content do we increase the overall quality.

Mythic Members are inarguably the content creators on these forums. Even when a user of a lesser title group manages to create a quality thread/post, especially here in the Septagon, it's usually a rehash or direct reference to an older thread, most likely created by a user that is now mythic. Mythics essentially enable younger and less experienced users to create quality posts.

I disagree with that greatly i have seen quality original posts across the board in my time here on bungie.net It's not always the mythics.

Nothing about this thread is "Trollish".

The OP obviously put time and effort into his post. Anyone who spends 5 hours writing something so beautiful is obviously being serious about his ideas.
