I saw a thread a couple months ago that was about criticism the competitive community had with the game. All of the competitive players were being respectful and weren't flaming anyone.

The casuals and the fanboys went into the thread and basically flamed the competitive community the whole time. I went back to the thread a day later and none of their posts were edited by the mods.

If the competitive players did what the casuals were doing they would have all been banned.

this is why I don't go on there.

La-hoo, Za-her.

I can't spend more than 5-10 minutes on Waypoint without it hanging. The site feels like it's held together with rubber bands and masking tape.

iPhone 4S 64GB Black.

I've never been banned on Halo Waypoint, but I have been here for the STUPIDEST reason ever. People say the mods are more strict there? I beg to differ.

1. Slow site
2. Silly stuff that makes the site slow
3. Community that doesn't post anything but " I love your game 343i"
4. I don't know who is who there.
5. We compare B.net to waypoint because we've passed more time here, and the community here at least trys to respect. (sometimes)
6. No interaction with the community (33i staff)
7. You post and no one replys, you post on B.net and at least you get "cOLD" or something similar.
8. Waypoint it's just ugly.

The stats section of Waypoint is terrible compared to B.net. I want to throw things at my computer every time I go on it.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

They do not allow constructive criticism at all. I went on and was talking about a way to fix a game type and I was banned for basically trolling.

Halo 3

There is no point in responding to admin posts like Achronos. It's as if they have some golden rule where they can only post once per thread. I can imagine obvious reasons why that is, but if there are no particular reasons, then these men (and women) have nerves of steel.

  • 11.13.2012 11:44 AM PDT

I wasn't banned on the waypoint forums for an idea i came up with and suggested a while ago, AMA!

But sersiously, am i the only one who wasn't banned on waypoint?

So expecting people to treat each other with some decency is asking too much?
Here in this forum 700% yes.

  • 11.13.2012 12:08 PM PDT

Major props to my hommie Sheeef. He made Recon possible for me. Long time recovering emails and passwords. And it was his. lol.

Holy crapballs!
This thread still going and getting this much recognition? Lol damn.

OP: I hate WP. It's messy and unorganized. The layout is an eyesore. The MODS there don't know how to lay off the ban-button.

  • 11.13.2012 12:10 PM PDT

Where did all these important people come from in this thread?

  • 11.13.2012 12:16 PM PDT

Codeword: Dirtbag.
I make music:
My Soundcloud
My Steam account
My Xbox Live profile

Because people like mods who are a bit more lenient.
Not ones who ban for every tiny little thing.

I am a rank Onyx in the halo waypoint forums and I absolutely hate it now; they treated the general community, machinimists, and halo war fans like crap and you will barely see any original people there.

  • 11.13.2012 12:25 PM PDT

Expressing my strong liberal views without shame. Favorite quotes below:

"Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe."
"One starts to live when he can live outside himself."

- Albert Einstein

In terms of the community, it isn't better or worse than the community on here was during Reach's "prime time." There were immature posts, flamers, trolls, and other posters who weren't "all there."

In terms of the format, Bnet wins very easily. Of course, it might be unfair to make this comparison because I've seen no other forums on the entire Internet that are as aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly as Bnet's.

My only real complaint is that the discussion that takes place there--especially in the Halo Universe forum--is often dull and pointless. The Bungie Universe forum still seems to be the best place to discuss Halo lore, with some exceptionally knowledgeable and interesting people (grey, DecepticonCobra, etc.) I feel like I learn more when I take part in the discussions there.

Someone said that you will get people disagreeing with you on Waypoint when it comes to canon even if they don't have the foundation to make criticisms of your knowledge or support. On B Universe, this isn't true.

  • 11.13.2012 12:27 PM PDT

I wouldn't know as I don't go on there.

I'd asume that it's just to do with how much the B.net community likes to complain about everything.

Who's got AIDS?

Honestly, if 343 came out with a new gun called the Poop Cannon, Waypointers would argue that is brings great diversity and interest to the game.

Oh god I laughed so hard at that. Thank you :)

Key

While there is a sizable population of Waypointers who are legitimate, enthusiastic, smart Halo fans who are educated and practiced on the subjects and aspects they discuss, praise, or critique, the overwhelming majority of the site is sycophantic in nature or wannabe trolls. Legitimate ideas and critiques are considered to be trolling and you have to present things in such a sterile, happy manner to not get any backlash (from the community or moderation staff). Nobody can handle the fact that an idea they may have is stupid, and people who are critiquing the game get punished for this kind of behavior a lot more than those who personally or otherwise attacker the critics.

There is no Off-Topic forum and the web team over there has made it clear they will not be and have no interest in implementing one.

There is no post history past the 10 most recent posts.

There are absolutely on-site groups of any kind.

And, worst of all, the forums in general look atrocious.

Also this. Back in September/October of last year I had the 3rd highest post count of all time. Now I barely qualify for a ranking because of inactivity mainly due to frustrations with the moderation staff.

I posted back a couple months ago (before we had a large amount of info) that "Forerunner vision" seemed like a bad idea and they should consider doing something else.

No replies, 3 day ban. Only time I ever posted in there.

I love how the mods on here are trying to act like they are just as strict and all and like the Waypoint mods. Modesty isn't needed guys.

And Waypoint is full of little kids, a lack of discussion from no acceptance of opinion or criticism, the forum is very broken and slow, and the fanboy count there is too much. I mean if fanboys were white blood cells, these forums have about the average amount, sadly Waypoint is diagnosed with leukemia (mass production of white blood cells for those uninformed).

This place is fifty times better and this place isn't even that great compared to /v/.
