Positive vibes.

Perhaps they should take out -blam!- entirely, and filter curse words with something else.

For example: "You're such -a b word!-" Or, "What the -f word!-"? That way we can at least get more of an idea as to what people are actually saying, when it isn't remotely apparent in the preceding context.

Thoughts? Do you think they should alter the -blam!- filter at all and substitute '-blam!- for something else? If so, what?

If you can't understand what the -blam!- someone is saying with -blam!- in its place then I'll be a -blam!- panda bear.

I think the -potatoes!- filter should stay the way it is.

I remember when I used this space to put cool looking links to my chapters back in the day. I don't even know why I'm using it now. Why are you even reading this? You must be interested in me. Still reading?

I hate the -blue!- filter. It always keeps me guessing, sometimes making me feel slightly insulted.

Or alternatively, remove the filter entirely.

  • 09.08.2012 9:30 PM PDT

Do you seriously have trouble deducing what words people are using? And if not then why would this ever be needed or even wanted?

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

It's all in the -potato!- context brother.

No, the -blam!- filter has historical significance.

Have you seen my mind anywhere? I seem to have lost it...

0x0 x0x 0x0 000 000 x0x 000
x0x 0x0 0x0 0xx 000 0x0 000
x0x x0x x00 0xx 0x0 x0x 0x0

I have seen you future

That kind of defeats the point of censoring the words in the first place...

I think that the filter should have an opt-out option. Unfortunately this isn't possible with the current build of the site, but maybe with bungie.next?

Lol, doesn't it!? It was more of a suggestion for the younger audience. I remember when I was younger and used to say, "He said the 'b' word," or "He said the 'f' word." So it was just the first thing that came to my mind. Obviously it would look dreadful, and would probably annoy people even more than '-blam!-', but it was just the first thing that I thought of.

Truthfully, I don't have a problem with -blam!-. I just feel like there are plenty of more subtle substitutes that could be used. Removing the hyphens, as well as the exclamation point would even seem like a good idea.

Response to above: People use the word blam sometimes in regular conversation. Very little to the point of nonexistance do people use -blam!- in regular conversation.

Um, sure...?

And perhaps, but I can't say I have ever personally witnessed anyone using the word 'blam', but I'm only speaking from personal experience. You could very well be right.

Again, just a suggestion. And like I said before, using 'blam' instead of '-blam!-' is just one idea among many.
