They asked what I wanted to be when I grew up;

I wrote down happy.

They told me I didn't understand the assignment;

I told them they don't understand life. - John Lennon

Expect to be disappointed then, Mr. OP.

ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!

I can seez da carpet banz incoming.

Shanayay, the Mods have stuff to do in their life. Work, family, recreational time. They don't always have time for something like that going on.

And when they do see the thread, they might want to keep one thread up to get everything in there instead of a bunch of little threads about it, which would make things worse.

9/11 happened 11 years ago, get over it.

I know, right?
Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

Just report any posts you see that you think are offensive, and if you're really worried, look for a mod who seems to be online and PM them.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

One of the Employees or Ninjas should just make a remembrance thread where all 9/11 discussion should be directed to. It would be locked at the end of the day.

Plus, some people may just be playing Armored Kill and leave the forums alone.

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

I'll try=)

I find this doesn't always work. You have 100+ people trying to discuss something in one thread and all you get in return are 100+ replies, but no actual discussion. It's pretty hard when your reply is buried by another 25 posts in less than a minute.

This man, this man right here put it so eloquently that I actually cancelled my own 2000+ word long post.
/slow clap for respect

The person who said participating is important, not winning, obviously never won anything.

What, you mean threads like this?.

Between this and Remember Elk, many lulz were had.

On one hand, it happened over 10 years ago and you need to not let a bunch of Internet trolls get the better of you, and on one hand, if it's violent it shouldn't be on The Flood.

Making fun of other tragedies happens all the time on that board without action, I don't understand why 9/11 should be the exception.
If there were threads made on Hitler's birthday about how hilarious it was when he killed all those Jews, that would be just as bad as these 9/11 threads. The only difference is we know for sure that the 9/11 ones are going to happen and when they're going to happen. (Also, it only happened 10 years ago and people on the site have a possibility of knowing someone who died in it.)

Report the posts you think were bad. PM them to a moderator. It isn't all that hard, mate.
Of course I can do that, but last year was horrible. Nobody was punished for all the horrible images and things said. A lot of them were foreign, American-bashing people, but some were from this country. I just find it very disappointing that moderators didn't keep the Flood clean that day. It's as if they were laughing with them...

*sigh* I'll PM them if I see it occur, but I have a feeling I won't be getting any responsive actions...

People have opinions bro, last time I checked, there's no rule about making fun of 9/11. If you don't want to see it, you don't have to.

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

You're assuming that we did nothing at all last year. I, and many others, had to work. When I actually logged-in I took care of what needed to take care of, as did the others.

There were plenty of inappropriate jokes last year, and I recall locking and banning quite a few people. What's sad is that this is a yearly occurrence. Not everyone on this website is as emotionally invested in 9/11 as Americans, and some (including Americans) choose to act inappropriately in order to get a reaction.

Please ignore them and report them.

We will do what we can, but we can only do so much. We can't just ban the discussion, but we'll keep an eye out for rule breakers.

The internet should have complete freedom of speech so I disagree.
It does, just not here. You can yell the f-word all you want, but you can't do it inside a high school because you're not allowed to there. You can say what you want, just not where you want.

Swear words are censored here though.
And the only reason they're not censored when you say them in a high school is because that's physically impossible. If you went off spouting about how awesome 9/11 was or how "Hitler did nothing wrong", you'd be met with equally as much distaste and be subsequently removed in just the same fashion as if you started screaming the f-word.

It can, but if you have an account on a privately-owned website, you have to adhere by their rules (which you agreed to upon signing-up).

Yeh but this is the internet, completely different to in public and nobody should take it seriously, nothing should be censored.
Right, I'm sure your complaints have been heard and they're on their way to remove the -blam!- filter as we speak.

What coolmike said. Don't be a jerk. That's being a jerk. Learn to have some -blam!- decency when you're talking about something that millions of people have a connection to.

It's not different to being in public at all. Why would it be?

"No one should take it seriously" is such a cop out. The Internet is the technology that is going to guide the future, why wouldn't we take it seriously?
