Subject: Do you follow the threads you create?

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

The title is fairly self-explanatory. When you have crafted a beautiful masterpiece of a thread, one sure to become a hot topic, or even one that will garner a mere response or two, do you follow that which you have written? Or do you create threads for others to enjoy, leaving them to come to their own fruition without any intervention by their creator?

Personally, I tend to follow my threads so that I might answer any questions directed toward me and make an occasional comment on another user's post. What is your style?

Yeah, I don't really see the point of not follow a thread you made yourself. I tend to walk the fine line between shameless bumping and generating discussion.

I always follow the threads I put hard work into. Even when it's been dead for a week or two, I still habitually check on it, dreaming that some good samaritan would bump it.

I reply in them, too. That's the point of a thread: discussion. If I make a thread that means that I want to discuss that topic. So why not discuss it?

Feels pretty good when it's bumped by a spam account a month later and it starts going again.

I can't say I've ever had that happen. Perhaps my threads simply are not worthy of spam.

Hello, I'm Mr AwesomePizza. I like pizza and I'm a man. Reasoning for the name. I like to listen to the classics of music, write poetry, play video games, and much much more. I'm always down for a nice chat, so please hit me up for some conversation.

Yup. I try to respond to all the serious posts in them as well.

I usually take the "make a thread" and walk away method in The Flood. That being said, in this forum, I like to create and follow my threads because of the general quality of replies and interaction is higher.

Then my question to you would be "Why make threads in the flood at all?" Just to bring others joy, or dismay?

I always follow threads I create. I create threads looking for debate and discussion.

To get some input, opinions or commentary on something going on in my mind. It isn't like I constantly make threads in The Flood by any means. (That being said, I won't post much in the threads I do make, thus I do not follow the thread).

yea a little, but I'm pretty bad at making threads, so I normally just let it go in the end.

I understand nothing because my life is a conspiracy.

Of course; I always want to see what people say.

Jay acts like she's better than everyone else simply because she's a chick.
I hope she chokes to death.

I make threads to get discussions going. No point doing that and then not posting.

Even if you don't respond, do you track what others say?

I apologize in advance for all the crappy jokes I make.

I actually sometimes forget about them.

  • 09.09.2012 2:48 PM PDT

Of course I follow the threads I make, and I try to have a conversation with those who reply. Otherwise, I would not make the thread. But once the thread dies, I usually don't come back to it. I would probably never notice if one of my (rare) threads was revived.

Posting a reply is a different story. I'll try to come back to it and check, but there is never a guarantee.
