Here's how I see it, it takes "different" skill but not more. Those who say it does should do some gameplay and actually research it. Halo 3 I think it's 30-40% skill and the rest PURE luck with spawning and timing. Also your weapon over theirs.

COD I think is just camping and one shotting. COD is not really skill, but advantage. A 5 star general has way more perks than a recruit or a colonel so if it came down to it a general" with more exp" would easily win just from a couple little perks, not really skill.

However if a recruit did beat a general then I would put that into the skill category of COD.

you have a very skewed, and naive look on competitive gameplay.

And for the future, take the words in your head, think about them really hard, form them into meaningful sentences, and then type it.

Not sure which order you did, but that wasnt it.

30-40% skill? Yep, you're retarded.

I'm sorry America is busy helping others in the world and actually making a difference.

Something Canada will never do.

sorry you suck at halo, doesn't mean the game doesn't take skill though.

Halo 3 imo is at least %80 skill to 20 luck. Its balanced... everyone has the opportunity for the same weapons/ powerups. The only thing I somewhat agree with are the effed up spawns which can and will disadvantage some players.

Spawns in this game are predictable. If you can't predict them, that's your fault. Same with weapon spawns. Same with everything.

My experiences with bad spawns were almost all in FFA naturally I might add, just to clarify.

In competetive games in both games, skill as a team and individual skill is needed. But one thing that is needed in Halo and is not needed in CoD is "team-shot". A good "team-shot" is very hard to get and might be the hardest thing to get in Halo. Even pros sometimes have slight problems with it, or maybe they just want to go into individual battles because it is needed in that time, I do not know. But I know that "team-shot" is important, hard to get and exists in Halo but is almost non existant in CoD. Or am I wrong?

I run Skirmish!!!

lol you are very confused... Learning weapon spawns and spawn points takes skill and time... COD takes no skill at all, It's just a sprint and one shot type of a game

But it does take skill to actually stay alive since you die so easily

halo 3 is my favourite halo i like hayabusa armour the best and i work hard on halo 3

Recently I discovered a trick that need to be done in a second
it take alot of skill in halo reach guy got a energy sword to me but if you melee in time you can block it but only have a flashing red bar and it need to be done like *snaps finger* like that and COD it's claymore in every camper spot and C4 360 no scope halo I think takes time and precision but a bit of skill to while Cod is a no skill type of thing.

Halo still takes much more skill in my opinion. My ranked KD in Halo = 1.07, my KD in MW2 = 1.72 or such.

same with halo, it takes more skill to stay alive in a team game than to go negative and ruin the game for your team

"To me, a nice triple kill with the sniper is infinitely more impressive than any Living Dead Killionaire"

Does flaming people on forums count as an esport?

I'm a commendation/achievement/statistics freak.

Call of Duty has low player health and huge damage on the guns. In CoD, even a shotgun can kill in 2 hits at medium-longish range with the right perk setup.

I think the main thing is that in Halo, weapons have a much more defined niche, and there's no all-purpose weapon. The BR/DMR is by far the most versatile weapon, and even that has its limits.

Also CoD has ridiculous aim assist, so it's more about who gets the first shot off than who has better aim. Couple that with slow movement speed and horrid acceleration, and strafing becomes useless/impossible in CoD. But to not make moving your character feel like driving a tank, they add in a miniscule amount of health and use the excuse, "It's realistic".

On a team level, Halo takes by far more teamshotting, communication, and general co-operation. No one would want to sacrifice their precious ACR red dot with deep penetration in CoD, so the developers cleverly made the flag a "pocket item". Also, the tiny amount of health means that even if I lose a fight in CoD and get the enemy "one shot", unless my teammate knows the exact position in the room that the enemy is at, he will enter onto a level playing field. Add in the camouflaged characters, terrible environment design (just look at all the headglitches and trick spots), and the ability to go prone, and you have yourself one helluva "Where's Waldo" situation.

TL; DR- CoD is literally dumbed down in every conceivable way from Halo to appeal to a larger fanbase of kids. Because why should they care if the game infuriates you, they already got their money.

I'm a pro......DUDE. I always win. FFA or Team. I just happen to realise that a silly little noob can win just by walking in at the right moment.

Ya know those killionares by the Gauss and the Banshee? WEll that isn't that hard if the enemy team is spawning out in the open, don't have any POW weapons, and or they just suck. If you have even one of those things to not worry about it it is pretty easy to do really cool stuff.

I like the tings that really are amazing like, out sniping, out BR'ing, and NINJAing

That's skill, 1 on 1 and win.

That's what I meant when I said 30-40% skill. If you still don't understand what I mean than post something stupid like the guys post i quoted :)

Hold up mongoloid, nobody "always" wins. I guarantee you have lost at least 1 game. Go back to your mommas -blam!-.

"What are we holding on to, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."

You have no idea what takes skill then. Halo is difficult because nearly every weapon in the game is extremely consistent. In CoD, weapons ALWAYS have a random element to them. This means that in CoD you can do exactly the same thing as another player, at the same time, with the same weapon, and the same internet, and equipment, etc., and someone will STILL get cheated out of a kill. Halo really comes down to consistency, which is why it's still so popular today.

I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it. ~ Mark Twain

You'd be stupid to think Call of Duty took no skill, but to think it takes as much skill as Halo 3? Lack of understanding is clear.
