I wouldn't mind if 343i made an anniversary copy of Halo 2, but they have to bring back the original Halo 2 multiplayer. The worst part of the anniversary edition of Halo CE was the fact that the multiplayer was nothing more than DLC for Halo Reach. Sure the maps were old Halo favorites, but that shouldn't matter. I wanted every single map, including Halo PC maps, to make an appearance with a fresh coat of paint so I could enjoy every aspect that made me love the original game.
I mean, wasn't that the point to releasing an anniversary edition? Even if they didn't want to put the multiplayer online, I would have been fine! Halo CE is the most memorable game to me because we were forced to get together in large groups for some of the most amazing LAN parties I've ever attended. That kind of bonding in video games has dissipated since Halo 2 came out. The need to get together was no longer necessary after this, so yes, I wanted some nostalgic Halo CE fun with the original maps in sexier form.
Halo 2 was the best Xbox game, period. The game itself has so many diehard fans that, in time, seem to have separated themselves from the fan base for the crappy knocks offs in ODST and Reach. So the problem here is that if they release a polished Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, they had better include the ORIGINAL multiplayer, or else Frankie will get a true glimpse of what a separated fan base looks like.
