great idea i think the covenant would have alternate power sources but seeing if cortanas on hagh charity, i belive she would send the ship into a star or somethin to destroy gravemind if the ship had power

yeah she would do something if she still ahd free mind.. but if gravemind did attack her verbally and torment her into following him... we are in trouble.. err i mean.. master cheif is in trouble..

but im safe cause he's protecting me. :)

also dont u think cortana would "die" soon as it said in the novels the more info an AI gets the less life she has and after being on halo and now with gravemind she might die from all the info she has i highly dought in halo 3 but just a thought

True, but I think the teleportation grid just reaches out into the surrounding space.

wat about gravemind couldnt he fly the ship just a thought hes smart enough to and he is certanly not braindead and flood are not brain dead the people or covenant in them still are alive but the flood have controlled them but the humans inside are trying to fight for control of their mind but they cant anymore dont u remember captain keyes still speaking to master chief to get out even though he was a flood and in the novels there are numerouse examples showing wat i just said

..Regret wouldn't know the actual coordinates though, they leave that up to the ship captains.

The Gravemind was able to move itself from Delta Halo to High Charity fairly easy. Perhaps it was manipulating 2401 Penitent Tangent to teleport itself? (similar to the way it was able to teleport the Master Chief and the Arbiter using a manipulated 2401 Penitent Tangent.) It could have made it's way to High Charity for Earth's co-ordinates from a now suspected manipulated and corrupted Cortana?

of course regret would know the coordinates to earth first of all he was the fleet captain of the ships that came to earth and second he was on earth so he knows where it is

CORTANA:

I knew the Covenant was good at repurposing Forerunner technology, but this is amazing. They've been using the Forerunner ship's engines as an energy source for the city. The ship isn't so much launching as it is disengaging, uncoupling itself from High Charity's power grid. Stopping Truth- that's all that matters!

The city was powered by the ship, not the entire planet.

I think they should, but it depends. If cortana still has the memory from Keyes and the PoA, then the only way the Flood know is if they kill her or something and get it. The covenant know, and the only way for the flood to know is if they kill a covenant person.

all im tryin to say is if the flood get to earth and i think they can it would be bad. Does anyone agree theres all that free food for the taking on earth for the flood and the flood can turn any human into a flood form even if they dont know how to use a weapon they can still lash out at u, and all that flood would mean that MC would have to actavate halo becasue there would be no other way. Sorry about that matt but im use to aim writing and ill try to clear things up.

I could've sworn High Charity was in ruins after Cortana detonated the ship's reactors. It seems like the place is a mess after the end credit scene. No?

yeah but it could just be the flood they beat up the place pretty bad, but if that is true then that rules out any posiblity of using high charity toget to earth but there still is Gravemind and his transporting capablities

Gravemind is Flood, and he can teleport. High Charity is Forerunner, thus it has its own teleportation grid. The Flood are intelligient by stealing whatever knowledge its hosts has. Even with the Forerunner Ship gone, High Charity could still have reserved power(ex: You disconnect a charger from your cell phone. Even if it's not fully charged, there's still power). If High Charity's power is completely gone, then the Forerunner city would be in blackout and/or there's a possibility High Charity will crash on Halo. If Cortana falls to the Gravemind, then she can sure improvise as she has a tendency to do so.

I absolutly agree about high charity having power. As u can see at the ending scene of halo 2 the lights are on and the doors, yet malefuntioning, are still working, so there is probably enough power to make one slip space jump to earth and once the floods on earth u know the rest that would also destroy peoples theorys on the ark protecting from the rings but if the flood are on earth wat would have to happen to stop the flood.

wats wrong with high charity like i said it has slip space capiblities and it probably is ready to make a jump to earth anyway

Exactly!

But first it needs the co-ordinates from Cortana!

Not really. If you read the book "First Strike", the Covenant actually know the location of Earth and that's how Earth gets attacked in Halo 2. So if the Flood tapped into the Covenant's databases, they could easily locate the coordinates of Earth. The only puzzling thing is: how the hell are they gonna pilot a tub like High Charity? That thing hardly moves. o.O

yes exactly but in first strike they dont say the covenant know its the humans homeworld, cause in halo 2 regret didnt expect all the humans were there, u can even play the first levels cortana says the covenant are confused, and then she says i dont think they expected us to be here. Maybe im wrong cause in first strike the Acident Justice (name spelled wrong sorry) did destroy the covenant command center and abot 7/8 of their fleet there. but i think the flood could use the reserve power in high charity to make a jump to earth

Hated by many, confronted by none.

The Flood doesn't know -blam!-! They can't think! And Gravemind can't communicate with Flood forms away from him.

I'd love to be a 10 year old and tell my mom I'm going on an adventure out into the world catching Pokemon, with her full support. Never mind the fact that there are rapists, criminals, and murders out there, or the fact that I may get killed by a Pokemon.

Luckily I have Pikachu.

well if you read through this thread you would know that the flood can think and do know stuff! we have proved it with evidence from the game itself so dont try and say other wise.
