regarding the human machine gun i reckon as well as being able to use it by pressing x, u can press and hold y (like dual weilding) and MC will take the gun off its stand. and u can use it like any other gun, but with a dangling 100 round belt which MC feeds in with his left hand. No reload, so when u run out, MC just discards it. The machine gun should be considered as dual weilding so if u press y to change weapons, or melee, MC will also discard the gun. I also rekon that a machine gun be placed in the passenger seat of the warthog, maybe through the fron windsheild. Also a short level dedicated to being flown around in the pelican and being able to use the rear machine gun, gunning down banshees at high altitude. what can i say, i like machine guns.
secondly, like halo 2 where it was possible to download maps, bungie should include a similar facility in Halo 3 that allows the download of not only maps but weapons and vehicles. so any good ideas that miss the initial launch of Halo 3 can be added later through live and/or retail discs (like the Halo 2 map pack). i guess this one's a no brainer though.
General gun stuffff
*An alternate rocket launcher, producing effects along the lines of a mini nuke.
*An anti material rifle. Like a sniper rifle, has a scope but the projectile could tear a warthog wheel right of the axel.
*Either the battle rifle or the orignal assault rifle with an under barrel grenade launcher.
*Having both the old pistol and the current pistol in H3 (after all, looks like the old assault rifle is back). the new one can be a 9mm, and the old one with the scope can be a .45 variant. The player can choose which to use.
*Possibly a minigun that MC can carry around (that would so suit him). imagine a level with flat plains and grunts extending to the horizon. Only 1 weapon for that job.
*I think that your secondary weapon should be slung around MC's shoulder when not in use, actually visible on the character model.
