There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

We, of course, told them both that they were not welcome.

That probably would've escalated quickly. Is that how 'Molo' or whoever (pardon my ignorance) was banned?

Captain Molo (from here on out referred to as 'Judas' or 'that ginger bastard') took umbrage at a thread filled with breasty goodness and reported it to the web team. Because Skibur had done nothing about it, Achronos took a very dim view on the older members of b.net generally flouting the rules when they should know better. Judas has ever since been shunned as a traitor to his gender and his class, with some speculation concerning his preferences going on.

He was, however, never banned for being an honest citizen. Don't be silly.

YANW stands for 'You Are Not Welcome'. No, really, you're not. We were just reminding DeeJ of that fact. <3

Not sure they can. I've seen Achronos do it before though.

Verachi, it might even be before your time. This was a few years ago, I forget when.

Did this happen in 08? Or was there another Mythic group? The one I'm part of was made in 08 and I joined it early 09. This probably happened when the group was fresh or when I was gone.

I just had a thought.

What would happen to a group consisting of one person, set to private, and is filled with links to all their NSFW picture stashes? (Assuming none of it is CP/illegal.)
...

Brilliant...

Same Mythic group, but I honestly can't remember when it was. Possibly 2010?

I'm sure that any ninja who saw a blatant ToS violation in a group they were in (links to illegal material, blatantly NSFW posts, etc) would say something to the group admin so as not to risk the group getting nuked by Achronos. I feel like that would be the professional thing to do.

That said, there have been several instances of ninjas not doing this, so I guess "professional" means different things to some of them.

No personal experience of my own, but if I got a solid impression that group administration was aware, sanctioning, complicit or at least turning a blind eye to such activity, I wouldn't consider them in need of my professional courtesy.
So would you go ahead and report them, or just let them be?

I would think that if you decided not to warn the group admin, you'd just go straight to reporting them, yes?

What I'm trying to say is: would you consider it part of your job to take action regarding behaviour that's against the ToS in private groups, even though you're not really a ninja in them?

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

The Webteam likes to pry in and look around in conspicuous groups.

Hell, I even hear Achronos has a script that searches for his name in posts across Bungie.net. Still confirming that rumor, however.

We must devise a code name for [redacted]. From here on out, he will no longer be known as [redacted] but as Achboy.

Wasn't that long ago was it. 2010 seems about right.
Worst thing to ever happen on Bungie. Evil Achronos and his henchman, Judas*, violating the sanctity of of MM.

Soffish: Do not eat!
TWP Assistant Director.

Yeah, I think only people with proper security roles that work at Bungie, can pop into groups and see what is going on. Moderators would have to actualy join the said group.

First, I've got an answer, it wasn't direct, but it is there.

Off Topic: when we quote a ninja it should keep their text color within the quote -blam!-!

You look around. You fire your weapon before you realize.
Its just me. I fall and you walk up. You cry why.
When i pop up. You look at me in wonder. I say,"ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL."
You bend to my will and go to a cliff, walk off, and fall.
The last thing you hear is me stating as fact,"All will fail the battle of life, you just went early"

Some groups might deserve to be spied on........................................................... ............................just saying.

What I'm trying to say is: would you consider it part of your job to take action regarding behaviour that's against the ToS in private groups, even though you're not really a ninja in them?

If I was a member of a group and witnessed serious violations of the membership agreement taking place, and my observations were that the group administration was complicit or at least aware but not taking any steps to curtail that activity, I would simply report it to the Web Admin team as a concerned member of this site. My being a ninja on the public forums has very little to do with such a situation other than the fact that I may be more aware of the ToU, CoC and membership agreement and more concerned with the fact that if members violate it, that it places our HOSTS at risk.

The inappropriate use of a group, that is the responsibility of the group admin. If they don't know, don't care, or encourage it, it is they who have failed, they don't need (or deserve) any sort of "heads up to clean up" from someone who just joined their group. If/when I join a group, my status as a ninja on the main forums is "left at the door". I have no authority, no power, no obligations other than the ones that I chose to accept when I became a member of this site.

So you'd probably report them as a member of the community, and wouldn't see the need to warn them that you were going to do so?

Okay, that makes sense. I agree with that.
