i think reach's forge still has alot more potential, halo 4's forge is basicly the same with a few minor adjustments and refined objects, i'm not overly fond of the dynamic lighting so i think i might carry on forging on reach, not that i won't give halo 4's forge a go.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Well Halo 4's forge will have magnetism between pieces that stick and another awesome feature that I forgot, plus I don't play much forge already, so probably only once in a while.

halo reach brought us phasing, now theres no more problems, all i wanted was an undo button, magnets would be nice for racetrack maps though and the duping is cool too

Halo 4's forge allows grouping, duplication, locking, more precise editing with magnets, and offers greater user control and precision with the enhanced interface.

And I don't see how dynamic lighting is a bad thing. It will make the maps feel more realistic and polished and the 3 new environments along with it will add variation instead of the all-grey that we had in Reach.

If you'd rather stick with Reach I don't see the problem, but I'm not. I don't think I'll play Reach at all when Halo 4 comes out.

whats the point in locking exactly? i don't see a need for it an undo/redo option would be better and as for magnets and duping those are great additions but i'm still prolly gonna stick with reach's forge.

the reason why i dislike the dynamic lighting is the fact that it's realistic, i don't want halo to look more realistic.

thus the three new environments won't change the greyness, it's not the environments which is the problem (though i'd love a forge-able space environment) it's the pallette which is the problem, theres not enough objects in reach i miss the radio's and wire spools from halo 3 along with the civvie stuff in foundry, imo it would be cool to have a forerunner pallet, a civvie pallette and a covvy pallette

An undo or redo option would be too taxing on the engine. The developers themselves don't even have an undo option internally. The amount of processing and memory it would take to keep track of all the movements of you and everyone involved in your forge session simultaneously are too great for the 360 to handle.

Locking and the new highlight UI lowers the amount of times you would need to undo or redo something since you can lock what you don't want to move and make sure you move what you really want to.

I don't understand what's wrong with a map looking like it's an actual map as opposed to a bland grey blob of mess. But suit yourself.

where is the grey in forge world? you mean the forerunner structures or the terrain? the terrain is green blue and brown not grey. and as for the forerunner stuff, thats why i suggested differrent pallettes, halo 4's forge will be still grey but it will be a darker grey because of the lighting.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

by complicated I meant complex, misused my words.

Reaches has been dumbed down considerably.

Not only that, but the maps are all much more plain, and adding in scenery only lags the game. H3 forge>reach forge.

in halo 3 you had to glitch to phase items making map making tedius, reach fixed that. and how has reach dumbed down forge? it's all about creativity and it requires the same amount of creativity as halo 3 it's just more accessible though that's all

look at the maps created in H3, then look at the ones in reach.

Reach doesnt have donkey kong, monster trucks, jenga tower, omega, etc...

Not only that, but all the maps are grey and plain. You may have had to geomerge in H3, but id take a small increase in difficulty to a limited amount of creativity any day.

Reaches forge is worse in almost every way.

jenga is still in reach, donkey kong has been replaced with avalanche which is hella more fun monster trucks is still there in some form, i've played it they made it tougher too. omega can be remade easily. theres limitless creativity in reach and way more minigames to play, check out darth human's maps, he's made some really good ones.

I just hope it won't be like Halo 3's forge. I mean, most likely it won't be, but hopefully they won't have it to where your forge ball monitor thingy controlls the item, I want it to control you. That's what the Reach forge is like. Forge item controls you.

what do you mean by control? and it's going to be like reach so don't worry
