Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Wow I can't believe this is still going on :D
Also, can you just clarify to us if the answer is in the form of a timeline or not, The Misssing Link?

So, I would hope we've reached the end of our journey, but that remains to be seen.

How? I connected the dots to the (confirmed by themissinglink) correct pictures, took the scrambled letters leftover, and ended up with Per Audacia ad Astra.

What's left?

Maybe the letters left over need to be unscrambled.

How do you know? I'd think if you had PM'd ML an explanation and had won we'd have the declaration by now.

  • 09.15.2012 4:32 PM PDT

Well at a minimum you should assume that he knows his puzzles. It seems awfully sloppy to leave a handfull of unused letters around. Its difficult because we stumbled upon the answer but you have to assume you didn't know it. If you didn't know it was per audacia ad astra you wouldn't have guessed it from there. You'll know it when you get it.

I haven't won, but I know there is at least another step in between.

Ok, I took the remaining letters and threw them into an unscrambler. Here are the results:

Getter
Letter
Lettre
Melter
Mettle
Mewler
Reglet
Remelt
Welter
Wetter

Keep in mind, I am human, so there's room for err. I could've had too thin a line, not directly on point, or incorrectly counted. All I know is that I counted the all the letters needed for "By Daring to the stars" in Latin (which is, in fact, Per Audacia ad Astra).

I'm pretty sure that Bungie was TRYING to write "See You Starside" in Latin. There've been disputes with their translation skills in the past.

Perhaps. Maybe they were trying to say, "My god, it's full of stars" or something. I just don't know.

After a quick re-evaluation, I found some letters I didn't see, or counted twice, but one of the words the unscrambler pumped out was "aligned"

So maybe "By Daring to the stars aligned"?

I'll plug the letters and see what a latin unscrambler thinks.

I dunno, I'm thinking it means exactly what they meant it to mean.

You know what? Let's give The Misssing Link a hard riddle next week.

Like I said earlier, we may just be over-thinking it. The answer could be right in front of us, aside from the "Per Audacia Ad Astra."

They meant it to mean "See You Starside". Or "Boldly to the Stars". Or whatever. There've been at least 20 translations of that since it was first shown.

  • 09.15.2012 4:50 PM PDT

"Here, take my handkerchief."
Hoofin' it bare-chested since -blam-

Nice work, all..
I can't believe I didn't get "General So"... which I really like, and my mom's a music teacher, lol.

TheMisssingLink, how about a "Yes" or "No" to this question: Is this puzzle finished?

This community rocks. :-)

Right, and Link said earlier on Per Audacia ad Astra was correct, we just needed proof. So now, I guess we just wait and see what he thinks?

What were they?
"Videre vos astrum latus"

Is a literal translation of see you star side.

Technically, there is proof, scattered about this thread. Not one person provided proof. If someone gathered it all and sent it to him, then I guess that person would be the winner.

I sent him a PM of the majority of everything we had learned, along with my connecting the dots. He could be busy, or watching this unfold. There's no way of knowing.

So, is Mr. Link a previous cryptographer, or is it his hobby?
