i personally think there should be health bars, everyone to their own and all, after all the mc is built like a tank, his armour should take a real pounding.

and where else are you going to feel the relief of finding a medpack when you only have one bar of health left? we all know what i mean.

perhaps this is a multiplayer mode to liven things up?

I agree to your last sentence. I think it is single-flag CTF with very little health.
No health bar would suck because it is not realistic. I mean we humans are organisms that have some kind of state of health. And the MC is still human, although he is "modified."

Could be

bah

I think we have to take into consideration that the MC's new suit is quite a bit stronger shield-wise so the health effect will be quite a bit smaller. This set-up could have been a low shield/health match. Maybe, just maybe, Bungie will allow us to adjust the health and shield levels independantly of each other. Maybe they set it up so the game would be fast paced by making the health lower. THis would also serve to throw people off the correct path and lead to future surprizes.

That is a pretty good idea. Don't you agree that the old shield/health system was nearly perfect though?

If you read the books, you know the MC can only take a few hits when his sheild is down. They just decided to make the game more like the books.

"maybe a shield re-generator (not oversheild)...

there is still health, it takes 2-3 shots to kill someone once their sheilds go... it's more realistic this way..."

Whoever said more realistic was more fun? A lot of games intentionally don't keep things realistic, because the game wouldn't be as fun.

It's only the health bar that is gone, you still have health (maybe not as much though). This is more realistic - shields power levels are something that is easy to measure, how much more a humans biology will stand up to is not... Medpacks are un-realistic...

Plasma Pistol: the charge-up shot will probably have been tweaked... maybe it only takes down half a shield now...

Whoever said it wasn't? Are you suggesting that Halo 2 won't be fun? how much shield/health will just be measured in a different way... it's not a big deal.

Whatever dude...you're playing a game that isn't realistic and trying to tell me that not having a heath bar makes it more real!...when did reality hit Halo? Someone fill me in...

It's based entirely on "our time". Ever heard the expression "there is nothing new under the sun..."

and you're trying to tell me that realistic is more fun? Whatever dude...

yep... just like ragdoll pyhsics, real world lighting, etc...

yep.

when did reality hit Halo? Someone fill me in...

when they made it different to Unreal Tournament...

Hmmmmmmmmmm... that guy that said that your health is replenished when your shields recharge is probably right. Where did you hear that? That makes perfect sense. I guess I won't miss the health bar anymore. I thought that Bungie messed up the game. HOW STUPID OF ME!

Are you people retarted? It cost money to make the 20 sec video, there still may be a health bar but they placed very little deep detail because it takes up more space and more money. Think about it like this if you were to read a story, then tell some1 the story, are you going to nail every little detail? Aslo look at it this way
1. With out shields LAN parties will go down hill, How many times have you taken out 3 or more people in like 12 sec? With 1 health bar left its all based on skill. you dont need this cheesy shield regen crap to make you better.
2. A.I. all i need to say, you are going to get shoot more and see a hel;l of a lot less. Futher more with less health (supposing there is no health bar even though there is) Youll die getting shot 2 or 3 times.

As i said before everyone who has played halo 2, unlike all you disbelievers of the no health system, liked the changes made, and even said that you hardly notice it anyway.
When i first heard that there was no health, i though it was a bit crappy, then i changed my mind, now i think its a great idea.

We, as humans, cant take about 10-20 bullets to our chest. Think about Halo. Once your shields were down it could take 10 bullets from the Assault Rifle before you died. Trust me, if I shot you in the stomach 10 times you would agree with me. :D

Maybe the books are trying to make it more like Halo 2, not vice versa. And you should read the books.

That is a good point. I won't loose a one on one battle because I have one health bar now and they just spawned. More skill indeed. Also I was told the shields recharge alot faster. I think that would be smart to "balance it off"

Welcome to the forums. What does it mean? It means that the Master Chief would have been the grunts daddy... or something. I am not really sure either. Hmm, I never thought of it that way...
