before anyone says it,i am asking if and where it exists LEGALLY!!!so,is there anywhere i can find free recording software?not those stupid demos that give like 5 seconds either.i need something that can record a whole round of HaloCE/HaloPC,and i dont care how much memory one file takes up,if there's a water mark or anyting else.i just want to record some fun stunts and crap like that when i am bored.i found some cool stunts on coldsnap that i want to share with the world.

*EDIT* well the Halo world anyways...

*EDIT 2* if you need any specs on my computer, then just tell me.

Well, I think GameCam can record for very long periods of time and takes a bunch of memory, but doesnt have sound. I personally wouldnt know because for some reason, the little buggar doesnt work on my comp -__- So, I end up using fraps

Fraps is free btw but only records for 30 seconds.

fraps is the crappy 5 seconds(or 30 seconds) demo i was talking about.

*EDIT*
also what would be better?gamecam lite or gamecam regular?

The only good free recording software is FRAPS. The free version lets you record 30 seconds at a time, which isn't so bad if you keep pressing the record button and then later splicing them together in Windows Movie Maker.

where can i find windows movie maker?or should i just get off my lazy trolling ass and google it?

lol

Fraps 1.9 = free, unlimited time. But it doesnt record sound. No watermark (www.fraps.com at the top of screen DOES NOT appear..) - this is because it wasnt that popular so they didnt think they'd make alot of money out of it.

Then they released it was used by alot of people.. so it became:

Fraps 2+ (e.g fraps 2.1 or 2.2.. i dont know how far it goes up..) = free, 30 seconds, and has a watermark ( 'www.fraps.com' at the top of the screen) and also DOES record sound. If you buy fraps 2+ you have unlimited time, sound recording, and no watermark.

;]

Also windows movie maker is on EVERY windows computer. You may have windows movie maker 1 if you have installed a resonably old windows version. I dont know what version has WMM1 or WMM2.. so go to microsoft.com and download windows movie maker 2.. or the most recent one. I dont think there is WMM3 is there?

O and btw, if you are going to BUY a video editing software, I hear theres a good sony one (forgotten the name.. sorry).. or get abode premier :) - thats a real nice one, with a helpful, plain interface. easy to use with really cool features.

- thats my knowlodge of the situation.

If you have a Mac, you can use Snapz Pro X.

It's a free demo, doesn't record sound, but, hey it's a free demo! You can always put the music so loud on your movie that you don't notice the absence of sound effects.

That's what I'll do when I make a Halo movie. Sometime.

Go to Start>>>All Programs>>>Accessories>>>Entertainment. It should be in there.

(I'm assuming you're using Windows XP)

you all realize i made this post yesterday, and if i could have found it,i would have posted it in here. and to the free full fraps,my firend already tried that with me.it didn't work.and that is serious hinting at pirating, but neither of my threads are important anymore, because i am going to make a new movie when my friend logs on so we can do some stupid crap that is actually worth watching,as opposed to the stuff i made in my last one.

*EDIT* assuming he ever frikin logs in!
