Subject: WHAT ABOUT THE COVENANT CIVIL WAR???

In ages past the hand of time
Has hindered our migration,
But it cannot slow the will of faith
In times of confrontation.
Let all those worthy walk the path
Where we shall all soon meet.
For what once was lost, now is found
And our journey is complete.

Seeing all those capital ships in the trailer just made me think-'are they being controlled by the brutes or the elites?' Who is it that really conquered earth because the Covenant isnt even the Covenant any more-its split into two factions and theres only one prophet left. Something to think about...

Hmm...

Seeing how they know earths location mayby they only need to take auto travel :P
I dont know...
I doubt brutes are so dumb that they cant control a ship.
Also, some of the elites might see ARbiter and his elites/grunts as traitors and is still on the prophets side.

how do you know there's only one prophet left? There could well likely be more out there in the galaxy, less important Prophets who have now suddenly received a raise in rank.

How do you know there's a civil war? Did you witness the Elites getting the word out to their brethren? Would they believe these heretic elites over the prophets?\

There may be no civil war... but a rebellion, a rebellion led by the Arbiter and his small band of followers that survived the debacle on Delta halo.

I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.

Theres still a covenant. And the elites, grunts, and hunters are the seperatist.

"The Master Chief's AI companion Cortana is still trapped in the clutches of the Gravemind - a horrifying Flood intelligence, and a civil war is raging in the heart of the Covenant. This is how the world ends..."

"A CIVIL WAR" is raging in the heart of the covenant, thats why its no small rebellion...

What about the images of the entire Covenant fleet engaging each other around High Charity?

Lies! Truth isn't the last prophet, he is the last High Prophet, there are many minor prophets that can be seen in the first Halo 2 cutscene which are likely still alive.

Well in Halo 2 on the Earth Levels there were no Brutes. I know that they could of came to Earth in the time Master Chief was on Delta Halo, but what if the Elites on Earth don't even know about the civil war? If we said that the Elites on Earth knew about it the civil war and that the Brutes came to Earth that would make it a 3 way war. That would make it harder for the Brutes or Elites to take over Earth. So I am thinking that the Elites on Earth don't know about the civil war and they are staying loyal to the Covenant.

Lets not forget that Elites basically forced in grunts/hunters into the covenant.

They had their own belif before the prophets ordered arounbd the elites.

Mm...

But look at the documentary of the trailer,we clearly see on a LCD screen that someone has made brutes with jetpacks, they might not be on earth, but would make sense...

What if they weigh so much thanks to the gravity on earth, that they need their jetpacks?

Also on the documentary we see MC holding a shotgun ;) yay!!

That is a good point but I don't think they forced them. In one of the levels when you play as the Arbitor an Elite says "the Hunters have come to our aid..."

the guys who designed the trailer said they wanted to show that earth was 'thorouly (spelling, sorry) conquered'. there were like 60 ships around the artifact as it activated and there was only a fleet of 15 that attacked earth at the beginning of the game. they were the only ones that wouldnt have known about the civil war and unless im mistaken, the only ship that acually made it to the surface of earth at the time was Regrets carrier...just somethin to think about...

Why waste time with a tiny human, when the holy great journy is right around the corner?

But they joined the Covenants after Elites bombarded their home planet.
However as you write,Hunters have deep respect for elites.
Probably because they feel Elites are noble and brave warriors as themself, who also seem to be nice leaders.

lol who ever said there was only one prophet left, if you had watched the halo cutscenes you would have seen threres hundreds of them, we have only seen 2 die.... and someone else said brutes r 2 dumb to control the ships, no they arent, in the last few levels of halo 2, cortana tells us the brute and elite controlled ships are fighting eachover. the reason the big ships didnt shoot master chief is because they probably cant see him, however i reckon the phantom and banshees might be the arbiter or something, otherwise they would have probably shot MC cos they could defiNately see him.

brutes are alot smarted than the game makes them out to be, and all of the elites answered directly to the council, so they would continue to do so

and as far as the post goes, the covenant on earth do not yet know about the civil war because of how far away High Charity was and the speed of photons, ect. But, as soon as the info gets out...................
