Do you think you can handle my gigantic COC?

I thought bungie should put this like universal password or encryption on each map... The only way you would be able to open the map and edit it is if you had this password for each map. I think it could work but then again I don't know a lot about map security.

They already have that, but the modders change it and mod the code to be the same (i think)

you want to stop hackers (mod game to inprove self or hurt others), modders want to improve the game and are rarely online w/ mods

but as far as your idea, if it was only that simple....
going around a password on a CD is easy, a password only effectively works ont flash or hard drives

How about they just do it the old fashion way use the banhammer. Hopefully halo 3 won't have modders considering it's the 360 not original xbox but they could find there way.

I think that the maps should come with the disk but in order to play them online they would have to be downloaded into your harddrive with a password protect, would that work?

downloaded content is just modded while it downloads.....
