Ok, people only play on the match making game types they want to. They can because what ever their highest level is that what their man level is. I think that all the ranks should average out to make the final rank.So if someone wanted to be really high they would have to work on everything. THis would be a good idea for Halo 3 and if Bugnie wants they can update Halo 2 with this now!

Those without swords can still die upon them.

No way. That would force people to play stuff they don't want to if they want to get their rank up. And if they just didn't play things they didn't like, their rank wouldn't accurately reflect their skill.

no, what about the people who hate non-team games? Or the ones who hate team games?

there are different matchmaking playlists for a reason, few people will have no preference in what game style the play in

and anyways, if you want an overall-rank triplekill.com has it for everyone

No. You would force people to play what they don't like.

Yes, it's perfect! Perfectly stupid! [/hazzah!!]

Yes, let's make the people play more to stop the innactivity. Great, now I have to play twice as much to get my rank up..

Well, reading most of these threads in the Halo 3 forum, it looks like there won't BE any rank to worry about.
