I mean, just look at this gameplay footage.

And the problem with Reach is, if it's laggy then the netcoding doesn't accomidate like it did in Halo 3.

Anyone else have any horror stories of this issue?

Winner of the 2012 Lurker of the Year award.

I'm watching you.

I have no idea what you're talking about. Reach's netcode is way better than H3's. Not to mention the video you posted is a poor example. If you're having in-game connection issues like that guy had then the problem is obviously on the player's end. The game can't be made to magically improve someones connection quality.

No, because I don't use a potato as my router.

It's actually a good connection with a good router. Something was amiss on the other end.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

For me, it hasn't been as laggy as Halo 3 is sometimes.

No. It's just you.

I have very rarely had a laggy game in Reach. In fact, I can probably count on one hand how many games have been laggy.

If you get constant lag... it is your own connection.

I'm a potato and I'm offended by this.

Reach's host selection isn't very good.

I intend to live forever, or die trying,

so far, so good.

Have you restarted your router?

Try that, and try have no other devices using your internet, as this will lower the bandwidth your xbox needs to play on Live.

If your playing with people on the other side of the world, the game maybe laggy, so try search "Good Connection".

This may help you.

But the Netcode in REACH is much better than 3, as I am from Australia, and if an American is also playing the connection is still OK.

If it was Halo 3, one of us would have a RED bar, in REACH, it is normally yellow or even Green.

Agreed, from the opposite hemisphere. I'm sure it was the same for you, but in halo 3 it was fine right up until you played with people from a different country. Reach, your bullets still count. H3, you see them smacking them in the face and just doing no damage. Or some French (insert some place far away from you here) dude gets host and snipes you with a guass hog because he sees you standing on your spawn for 3 seconds, even though you see yourself just spawning.

Frank O'Connor said he doesn't think the Halo series needs to be taken in a radical new direction... it just needs to go "deeper"

"Ultimately the core game mechanic and strength of the universe doesn't need to be changed, it just needs to be taken deeper. We want to make Halo games - we don't want to make Call of Duty or Ridge Racer. We want to make Halo games because we understand what's special about Halo."

It's better than Halo 3s, but still pretty bad.

lol ... thats funny.
Every one knows that capture cards delay 'only the gamer recording, not everyone else. Capture cards do not delay equally' ... pure genius.

For those that want to know ... go hook your xbox up to a hub, plug in a pc with wireshark, and watch the game traffic. Look at the packet traffic, length and frequency. Then come back.

Yes, bungie brought back hitscan, they also improved the local projection ... but neither of these are actual improvements in netcode. If anything they are an acknowledgement that the netcode is not performing. Bt judge for yourself.
