Subject: Bungie and the classroom...

Never, apart from my teacher trying to tell me I didn't go to school for two weeks because I was busy playing Halo (I had Swine Flu at the time), although that doesn't really count.

I acknowledge my user name is stupid. However, I promise I'm not.

Disclaimer: The latter is a lie.

Nope.

When regarding businesses and other forms of media at a certain point the teacher referred to Bungie for a brief period. I was like :D

I read a novel, yes a whole novel, today (only 200 pages) about story telling. I was completely encompassed by it page by page, but in the final chapter everything hit close to home. The author starting talking about MMORPGs and the future of "story telling" in the world. One of the sections in this chapter was titled "O BRAVE NEW WORLD" but to my dismay Bungie was not mentioned. Still it made me smile and think of us, here (I know we did not invent O BRAVE NEW WORLD, but it relates).

Just thought this would be a thread where I could throw this in and it would be relevant. Both Ken and I experienced some Bungie-ness at our universities today! :)

Not that I can recall. It did make it out to Afghanistan though. A challenge of its own.

I remember reading about that in the Community Joes! If not that, definitely something that caught my eye. Thanks for your sacrifices.
Has hasn't been interviewed for Community Joes. You probably saw it somewhere else. Maybe he has an Average Joe Interview...

OT: The closest thing I've seen with Bungie being in the classroom is a classmate wearing a Halo 3 t-shirt.

There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

I think I meant to say Community Joe. Regardless, I consider both highly respectable to be chosen upon.

Once a teacher was talking about halos and before he started to explain what it is he said something like "Yes, I know that's a video game, but I'm talking about something different here." And he was like 60 years old and this happened in Germany. So even 60 year old German teachers know about Halo. I don't think he knew who/what Bungie is though.

the only problem i have with mine is that it's unstable,[very shakey],so you'd need a tripod for it.

Just drink a beer and everything will be ok

Not really related but once, on the radio on the way to school, the radio announcer read out a poem/love letter to Marty. Hilarious and epic!

SPARTANS! WHAT IS YOUR PROFESSION?!

AOOH, AOOH, AOOH!

A few years ago I did a Powerpoint presentation on Halo 3. It was for English, where we had to make a persuasive presentation to see who was able to get people to be interested in trying something they presented.

My presentation highlighted the awesome campaign, the ability to play with friends and create screenshots and custom environments, which no-one else in the class knew. It was accompanied by clips and pictures taken by myself.

I came second in a class of thirty.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

As far as I know, not one time, other than a substitute teacher talking about playing Halo.
