I calls 'em as I sees 'em.

Ya, left to right is fine but looking up or down takes forever and a day on default settings.

This is true. I think it has something to do with aim acceleration. I may be wrong though.

Why Bungie, why would you do this?! - Halo Community

I don't know. Luckily, we don't have to look up that often.

There are a couple of possible causes for your pain.

The first is that Halo has tended to have greater horizontal turn speed than vertical. This is because horizontal rotation is usually more prevalent in gameplay; Halo is more vertical than some shooters, but gameplay still takes place fairly horizontally.

The second consideration is that you might have a slow-turn controller with poor vertical responsiveness.

I have noticed this. The best thing is just to try to avoid looking up more than 30 degrees or so unless absolutely necessary, and try to exploit your enemies' taking a long time/getting disoriented while looking up or down. Try shooting at them from above, then as soon as they look up to shoot back drop down to finish them.

This is either sarcasm or stupidity.

This is ignorance at its finest.

I use "that often" lightly. The rate in which you turn vs. look up and down is different because you obviously look right or left more often than up and down.

And acceleration speed on ST controllers only changes at around 50 degrees. I have yet to see a game of Halo Reach outside of Sword Base were one has to look up above 50 degrees on a regular basis.

I don't know but it's really annoying especially since most maps aren't perfectly flat and jetpacking is present. I wish we could adjust both the horizontal and vertical sensitivity.

For as much customization Halo has and how much 343 is preaching about it in H4, we sure lack the options for important -blam!-.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Because you're used to a higher setting.

My horizontal and vertical turning speeds are roughly the same, that said I'm on 10 sensitivity.

Name's John. I'm a 21-year-old firefighter/EMT from lolhio who doubles as a die-hard Halo fan. I've been enjoying the franchise since 2001. My favorite iteration of Halo would have to be Halo 2 simply because I never got to experience the joy of a full-on Halo: CE LAN.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, and boot Zome.

If you think it's bad in Reach, go back and play Halo 3 again. Now that's slow. I barely notice it in Reach. In fact, I'd be willing to say that my horizontal speed is relatively the same as my vertical and that's playing on a 3.

Agreed. I don't get why "WE" the players can't have an option to change the controls our self's. Like in PC games you can map out the controls to whatever key you want it to be.
