Mother load the game plus little kid plus letter limit equals Powdrilla shortened from power driller

Am I the only one who feels a little sorry for Tartarus in a way?

He's basically a confused character who is so intrenched into the prophets beliefs he would rather die than have to accept them as false, I saw brotherhood however small it may be between him and arbiter, even if it was only created by membership to the covenant and it's ideals... It seem to me when presented with the truth by oracle he was having an internal conflict...

I don't feel really bad for killing him as arbiter but I still feel pity for the character, his pride and investment in the covenant caused the soab to "let the great journey begin" Aka knowingly kill everything...

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't bring him back as a flood boss in halo 3,

Imagine the grave mind speaking through a flood version of Tartarus...

Same here.

Arby didn't hate Brutes like his fellow Elites. He merely didn't like the way they behaved (taking prisoners, setting traps, eating humans).

I wish Great Journey's ending cutscene showed Arby kneeling over Tartarus' corpse or looking down on it instead of focusing on Miranda for the entire duration...

Exactly, Arbiter seemed to genuinely want to help Tartarus...
Yes it seemed like it would have been better if Arbiter had done that perhaps even say he was sorry it ended like this?

As far as the narrative perspective goes Arbiters scenes and interactions carried the game(as much as I like 117) it was a bit disappointing to see them finish it like that when they could have made it so much more compelling.

Much to my disappointment you never got to have Arbiter in a separate story in halo 3...

Agreed. Remember, Arby did say he wanted to make a better Covenant, not to end the Covenant: "There was honor in our Covenant once... and there shall be again!"

Yep, the rushed ending was disappointing due to the lack of empathy, not necessarily because it was a cliff hangar.

The decision to relegate Arbiter to a partner was a horrible one.

But wouldn't the Gravemind have been on High Charity? Why would he visit Installation 05's control room?

It'd be better to fight Gravemind directly or be pursued by the Gravemind's tentacles (like on the deleted level Forerunner Tank). Or maybe after the cutscene, the game introduces a new Flood variant: Brutes and Elites that look like themselves but are covered in Flood growth.

I'm sorry to say I'm a little hazy on halo 2 cannon, I remember it fondly though...

Perhaps it would be impossible to have a flood Tartarus, but the concept could have been interesting ton say the least...

Perhaps although fighting a giant monster in a halo game would have to be done in a very unique and compelling way to "fly" if you will in a halo game.

Me and several friends of mine actually built a amazing story concept for halo 4, back when we thought it would never come out...

The reason I mentioned this is because it involved reforming the covenant.

Perhaps I'll post the outline somewhere if I ever write it cohesively enough

Tartarus was used by the Prophets, for that reason I feel pity for him.

Nope, I don't. It's a simple issue. He tries to kill me, I'd try to kill him. Arbiter succeeds.

Hear, hear.
Whether he was used or not removes none of the jerkiness from that hump. I'm playing as Arbiter. My motives say take him out.

I think the Arbiters feeling to the brutes was touched upon in the level "Uprising". He wanted revenge for his kind, but I don't think he necessarily enjoyed it.

-on Crow's Nest, Arbiter says 'Spartan, the Brutes have taken your soldiers, as prisoners or as meat for their bellies, I do not know'
-on The Ark, the Chieftain talks about feasting on Chief's bones

-on The Ark in gameplay, the Brutes can be seen eating some undefined substance. I highly suspect that we were meant to imagine them eating human parts. It's not like the Brutes eat their own troops... do they?

In the Halo 2 Introductory Arbiter mission they wanted to feast on Thel Vadam...

"They could use the meat."
"Them?! What about us? My belly aches, and his flesh is seared just the way I like it."

Tartarus was blinded by his religion.

Personally I don't like him for killing his dad. His father was a pretty cool Brute.

Welcome back Commander!

I agree. He was nothing like this in-game. Of course, Captain Chieftains were much worse, utilizing the cheapest armor I've ever seen.
