There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart
ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!
On occasion, I feel like I need to change my avatar, but am usually hesitant to do so and this is for many reasons.
-I grow bored of using an avatar I feel hasn't fitted me.
-I get the impression an avatar can warn/tell other users how the post body, user, and the overall vibe of the user before the OP has a chance to represent himself.
-I also get the impression changing your avatar can wipe out any remembrance of the user unless the other members know of the OP on a somewhat personal level.
So, you can see my hesitance whenever I feel I (or other members) need an avatar change.
For example, how many of you recognize me now, after changing my avatar from the Halloween pumpkin to this? My guess is that, on a subconcious level, you may recognize my username, but it feels odd seeing a different picture representing my name.
When someone uses an avatar, they typically go for either a custom avatar, or an avatar that's rarely used, so that the user feels he has his own personal identity.
Me? I'm still searching for the avatar that fits me, and is pretty original but at the same time speaks to me. Out of the Community, I can pretty much handpick the amount of users who've changed their avatars (A 3 Legged Goat, for example) multiple times just to see what fits.
As an added note, I could see people using variations of this entire statement to say we could use pre-approved custom avatars.
What are your thoughts on the changing of avatars? Do you feel like your avatar speaks about or represents you? Do you see yourself changing it anytime in the future should a better avatar present itself?
