Subject: Do you feel like you represent your avatar?

There's no way Nate Hawbaker's favorite hero is Alan Stuart

ALAN IS A BEAUTIFUL MAN!

On occasion, I feel like I need to change my avatar, but am usually hesitant to do so and this is for many reasons.

-I grow bored of using an avatar I feel hasn't fitted me.

-I get the impression an avatar can warn/tell other users how the post body, user, and the overall vibe of the user before the OP has a chance to represent himself.

-I also get the impression changing your avatar can wipe out any remembrance of the user unless the other members know of the OP on a somewhat personal level.

So, you can see my hesitance whenever I feel I (or other members) need an avatar change.

For example, how many of you recognize me now, after changing my avatar from the Halloween pumpkin to this? My guess is that, on a subconcious level, you may recognize my username, but it feels odd seeing a different picture representing my name.

When someone uses an avatar, they typically go for either a custom avatar, or an avatar that's rarely used, so that the user feels he has his own personal identity.

Me? I'm still searching for the avatar that fits me, and is pretty original but at the same time speaks to me. Out of the Community, I can pretty much handpick the amount of users who've changed their avatars (A 3 Legged Goat, for example) multiple times just to see what fits.

As an added note, I could see people using variations of this entire statement to say we could use pre-approved custom avatars.

What are your thoughts on the changing of avatars? Do you feel like your avatar speaks about or represents you? Do you see yourself changing it anytime in the future should a better avatar present itself?

Of course the avatar represents you. But you do not represent the avatar.

This is true. I never plan on changing this avatar, although I've had variants of it in the past. I don't think I've ever seen anyone else with this exact one.

As for it saying something about me? I don't know... does it?

Clever use of the English language, Izak. Of course, that is what I actually meant. Many people (or maybe not many) feel they do not represent the avatar, and so, continue to search.

Inappropriate. Went a little to far with the butt hole tearing.

Absolutely.

When other people use it, I tell them to change it.

I think my avatar suits me pretty well, plus I think I've only seen one that looks slightly close to it.

The only thing I've changed on my Avatar was the colors when ODST came out. I've had this Avatar since 08 and I don't plan on changing it anytime soon.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

I can't even remember what your old avatar was, so sure.

I have no clue what my avatar represents.

Welcome to the town of "Diligence." I'm Mayor Due.

I'm pretty attached to this thing. If it were to become unusable on B.net, and if it's not in Halo 4, I will seriously consider getting a small tattoo of it. I've had it longer than most of my relationships.

Yep that's what it used to be.

I don't really pay to much attention to peoples avatars anymore. Well, at least, not on a conscious level.
Someone changing their avatar is like when someone changes their hair style. At first, it can be a bit of putting. But you get use to it pretty fast.

Does my avatar represent me? I don't know... That question is too metaphysical for me to answer.

Will I change my avatar if a better one arose? I don't know, I've had my avatar since Halo 2, It would have to be something special for me to change.

Arbitor they outnumber us three to one!
Then it is an even fight.

Arbitor > Arbiter.
Arbitor = Rank above Arbiter.

A big thanks to kids that did this to 343 after they heard they get an infection game mode in halo 4 with no thought of normal playlists.
