The guy antagonized a member...created unnecessary conflict.

Frankly, Foman did exactly the same thing. The entire thread derailed simply because he couldn't take it to PMs.
The door was already open.

Saying "Don't sign your posts, it's unnecessary" is not antagonizing a user.

Telling him to STFU, not question older members, etc., is.
Not question older members.... *Imagines mythic member backhanding someone for disagreeing with them*

I think they have been very clear several times, if you wanna report a Ninja, pm. a Master Forum Ninja or contact DeeJ, I don't know why this issue keeps popping up.

Uhh try reading more than the title.

I did, still all you can do is that, pm. them and that's it, remember here Bungie is the law and you have no rights, if you don't like the way it's handle the website, then tough luck. This is the way it has been handled for many years.

I don't see how it being this way for years makes it any better. The forum ninjas aren't Bungie, and if Bungie wants people to actually run this website properly, they shouldn't get people who act like children to moderate the forums.

(Note: I'm not saying all forum ninjas are like this. Most are decent)

They were chosen by Bungie to mod the forums for a reason, if Deej didn't answer or told you it will be handled then that's it, you can't do more, you did what you were supposed to do and move on. Like I said, you have no rights here, if you don't like it, there's not much you can do besides pm. report, and let it go.

And again: this thread's whole point is to call out the fact that only being able to PM Deej or the master mods is a terrible way of handling things.

It's times like these that I look to the rules. Just like someone can't create a thread posting negative comments about an individual, so too can you not create threads about community members breaking rules.

I think people seem to forget that we are community members. You may think that we think that we're above the law, but we're not. Just because you don't get a response in a thread or PM doesn't mean it's not being discussed.

We make mistakes just like everyone else, but because we are enforcers of the rules, our report button is a private message.

Feel free to PM DeeJ and Achronos if you feel any of us break the rules. Feel free to message a Master Ninja about it too if you wish.

Creating threads will not help anything.

(Also, I've yet to receive any PM from anyone about ninjas breaking rules.)

Your ninja sucking up is amusing.

Your first link I see nothing wrong with what I posted.

Second one was a joke, it was originally about real ninjas (like Naruto)

Your solution of "If you don't like everything about this website, then just leave" is horrendous. I'm just trying to make things more fair, stop taking it to a massive extreme. I want to stay at Bungie, and even if this isn't fixed I'll still stay, I'm just trying to improve the experience a little bit.
You see, thing is, you've been a member for less than 4 months. I'm not to say someone can't figure things out here that fast, but you really have got things all wrong.

A Mods will butt into a thread, and tell people to stay on track, because that's what Mods do on any forum. They post off topic of a thread to warn a user to stay on topic, and to keep things civil. They warn them out in the open about their rule breaking, and might even add on a little spice to really make their point.

Your idea doesn't really improve the experience at all, to be completely honest. I don't see how Bungie.net is a bad experience, unless you make it out to be one.

The argument "If you don't like everything about this website, then just leave" is a perfectly legitimate and reasonable request. The idea goes for everything in life; if you don't agree with a church, then leave. If you don't agree with a country, then leave. If you don't agree with something that is far greater than you, and that you have no power over, then just leave, because it is NOT making you stay.

Look, I've had quite a few run ins with the Mods here. Far too many at this point, and I'm fairly close to leaving B.net for good, because I'm not getting the vibe that Destiny will be my kind of game. I'm still here for a couple people, and because I wanna give Bungie a chance. But that being said, I know how you feel sometimes. I don't always agree with how things are done, and would love to get my chance to make a change; But this is not a democracy.

This is a dictatorship, run by Bungie, and it's run this way because they supply us with everything, for almost nothing. What they ask of us is hardly anything, so to give up a few rights to talk with smart minds is nothing too hard to do, if you ask me.

Saying "Don't sign your posts, it's unnecessary" is not antagonizing a user.

Telling him to STFU, not question older members, etc., is.
The more important and more highly accentuated point in his post is "stop being a dick about signatures because there's no reason to tell other people how to post". Not so much the "more experienced" part. And the person didn't just say "Don't sign your posts, its unnecessary." If they had, Foman would not have reacted the way he did.

The person said it in a rude and antagonistic way. Thus the reaction. Just because you can rewrite the situation so that it seems like someone innocently said something and Foman attacked him doesn't mean that that's actually what happened.
