Another gametype idea, what about a gametype that involves protecting a high ranking official that is relevant to your side? (Armaments would apply to Assassination only)

Humans: An Admiral or General (if armed, Battle Rifle)
Elites: An Honor Guard Captain (if armed, Plasma Rifle)
Brutes: A Prophet (if armed, Throne Cannon)

The person in question would follow a randomly chosen player around, making that person his/her personal bodyguard. If that player dies, a randomly chosen player must act as the bodyguard and link up with their leader and simply put, if the leader(s) (maximum of three) dies, the faction is eliminated from the game.

An easy way to prevent stupidity: Implement an auto-boot function that forces people to fight and play the game the right way or make the Leader shoot anybody that friendly fires excessively, and change the bodyguard.

Capture the Leader would behave just like Capture the Flag, with the object in question being an invincible person. The leader would be unarmed and if the leader was taken from the base, they would have to try to get him/her back by killing whoever took the leaders in the first place.

I suppose there could also be the option to select your leaders' weaponry and customize the durability and difficulty of them. Think of the idea of a Legendary Admiral fighting... insanity.

Basically VIP for Halo... That was pretty fun, but unsucessful in any other game it was released in...

If anyone ever played the team fortress mod in half life 1... make it like hunted. The goal should be to escort one person (real person) through a map and make it to a pelican or phantom. One team defends the map, the others try to get the pres there alive. One thing to hold back on is gun emplacements though. It would be way to hard to get their with camping like that. They could make a starting armory for the offence, same for the defence. Try not to put the sniper in a conveniant spot... would make it way to hard.

Nah, this would have to be more refined because the leader's survival will depend on actual teamwork. For example, moving into a forest so snipers cannot hit you from the outside.

I'm thinking that the escort leader to a pelican or shadow would do well for a single CTL game.
