I downloaded and watched the Halo 3 trailor a dozen times and something kept bothering me. Just before MC is revealed, you can see a road behind him. There are heat waves rising off the road which is no big deal because he is in Africa. However, the wind is blowing (the little grunt sign shaking). If the wind is blowing, how the hell could there be heat waves. Also, there are no other heat waves in any place other than the path behind MC. Perhaps rather than heat waves, maybe there is a large group of cloaked elites and hunters following MC. When you watch it again with that in mind it definatly looks like a possibility. It follows the story line from Halo 2, and it explains why MC doesn't look nervous with all the covenant flying around him. why would he be nervous if he has a legion of elites or the Arbiter to help him. Maybe he is looking for a fight. I'm rather new to bungie.net, so if this has already been discussed, I apologize. I kept looking, and I never saw discussed. Looking forward to the comics though.

i don't think so, the heat waves are rising like heat rises, they don't look like cloked elites, the sign that the wind blew was very far away from mc when you could see the heat waves so you can't say the wind would cause the heat waves to not be there

Yes. It would be dramatic if the MC were leading the Covenant in that trailer.

I once saw this wallpaper of the MC and the Arbiter inside a gritty-realistic Forerunner structure.

MC never looks nervous. He's either stoic, or forlorn.

Each time someone stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. That hope is three little numbers: 1 - 1 - 7.

There is hope in us all. We gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face. We must do the thing which we think we cannot do; stand with the Master Chief and Finish this Fight!

Hmm, I like it, but don forget that the Arbiter is still on anoter Halo Ring light years away, how did get to Earht, warn the MC and convince the rest remaining of the Elites that they are teaming up with the Demon that they so furiously fought all this time?

A nice theory but doesnt make sense in the grand sceme of things!

Plus when was the Master Chief ever nervous?????

Let's hope Spec-Ops Leader managed to capture that Brute-controlled cruiser over Halo's control center.

At least it's a good thing the Arbiter is reasonable(a rare trait amongst Elite-human interaction) and can actually talk to Miranda and Johnson without roaring, grabbing them and throwing them down the core.

He was alot more than nervous when he's outside the forerunner structure just after you kill the Prophet of Regret in Halo2. As I recall, he ran like a little girl. Can't say I blame him, but all the same, there he went.

Okay he was nervours but he panicked a little, wouldnt you?

Plus he went for the water where it was the safest place where he passed out.

Run like a little girl? Comon the Master Chief does not run like a little girl!

Wind doesn't effect the "heat waves." It never does, and it doesn't appear close to you. It's the same as it appears on the pavement during a hot day during summer.

"Heat waves" are most certainly affected by the wind. If the heat is dissapated then there would be no visible distortion. Although perhaps we are giving this alot more thought that bungie did. you may be right, could be nothing.

You're forgetting... This is suposedly the end of Halo 3 until noted otherwise. Thats means those could be elites and the Arbitor with their Active Camos. That would mean that the Arbitor is most likely not on Installation 05. It would kinda suck that as soon as you start playing, you're the Arbitor still on Installation 05. But, the Elites wouldn't have their Active Camos on If there wasn't anything to kill. It's possible, but in some ways doubtful. Its almost guranteed that the Elites, Hunters, and Grunts with be in allegiance with the humans. They are fighting for the same purpose...

But how on Earth did he get on erm Earth? Fly there? Use the Fast-Travel from Oblivion, or used a special secret hidden spacecraft on the Halo Ring?

It doesnt make any sense for the Eites to land on Earth fighting with the humans whilst the Prophets are on there way whilst the Earth Eltites have no idea that the Arbiter has allied himself with the humans for survival.

Its plausible, but its also plausible that we the ascedents of giant dolphins, that used get cable until the dinosaurs come and eat them until giving birth to monkies, plausable, but not likely!

its been stated that that is not the begginging of halo3.. if you actually played the halo2 game and watched the cut-scenes you would noticed that mastercheif was on board the forerunner ship.. so if your given he jumps from a forerunner ship to walking on land.. you can obviously tell TIME HAS PASSED!!!. so the arbiter isn'g going to still be standing still tlaking with johnson and keyes at this time.

you do know that MC came from high charity right? and thats light years away from here. yeah its called slipspace and well guess what? the covenant know how to do it... thats what the arbiter COULD have done.. time and space has nothing to do with anything.

Nah, it looks TOO much like heatwaves. Because its all like in a line. If they were eliets, the shapes would be all random. And curved.. well you'd see the image distorded in a curved shape.. but its not.

Its heatwaves

OMG I declare this man the smartest person on this website.

Not because he has brought about some revolutionary theory (I think it has many holes srry) but becuase he finally produced a theory about the video that is not a repeat of "OMG the reflections on his helmet mean there are more spartans".

Thank you, you have restored my faith in humanity for a little while *deactivates doomsday device meant to target spammers of bungie.net*

Carrots.

Master chief is not scared... he was never scared... so why would he be nervous now? He's been atacked by Elites dozens of times in banshees, and his rode a bomb onto a Covenant capital ship, crashed on a life pod, falled five hundred floors into a pool of goo, faught of monsterous hordes of flood and rode a giant lazer which sent him lying into what seemed the inside of a huge space-ship, why would he be nervous now?
