When I was taking a shower, thinking about bungie.net and the "reverse" mail sack thread. An idea I came up when I thought myself, "Why did I read the reverse mail sack, when it's going to be presenting this Friday, I have already spoiled myself thinking about that".
Then it so happened that I thought of a new tools for the user on Bungie.net that allows the user to comment in a thread having their post hidden to other member, but only the thread creator, moderators, administrator, and higher up super user can read what that user wrote. This is a similar method for the spoiler tag, but more powerful.
With this possibility; you can have a friendly discuss without having people started to do flame war with another member in your own thread, making it derailed and locked.
Rest assure you that there is still some downside to this method, as someone could hid a post that contains inappropriate link or profanity language that hasn't been censored by Bungie's profanity filter engine.

So what do you think? A good idea, a bad idea, a idea that we can try to test for the next new bungie.next website? This idea can be approved by you, the community members. Also, any suggestion will be thanked!

Edited- Almost forgot;
Also I forgot to add something at the top, allowing employees, moderators, and super user to have the option to make their post revealed in that thread.

But in thread, somewhat. Except that moderators, admins, and superuser can read what you wrote.

I've seen some thread in the flood forum gets derailed instantaneously fast. This idea will help the author who created the thread get a straightforward answer without having another user complained another user in the thread.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

I get it. That would work, maybe need only one or two changes, but that is a cool idea.

Exactly! It's almost like when the thread has maybe 50 replies, you can only see the author's submission and that's all. It's seems like you blocked everyone in that thread except the author, so that you can only talk about what the author talks about. No one else!

This would be useful for the Mailsack as well, where Employee would need a direct answer from the members without having someone else copy the answer.

Also I forgot to add something at the top, allowing employees, moderators, and super user to have the option to make their post revealed in that thread.

I feel like if you are going to talk about something that doesn't seem relevant at the topic at hand, it shouldn't be in that thread in the first place! Make a new thread and stop derailing the one you're currently in.

And the contents of OP's shampoo.

OT: I think the PM system works well enough.

Formerly Sparten110.

Also check out Last Refuge, I hear all the cool kids are going there :)

How about a system that lets you hide posts by default? Like how reported posts are hidden, you still can tell they're there, but you don't actually see them. That way if you want to read the posts of others you can.

I think the idea was presented in another thread earlier in the month, actually. I vaguely remember also commenting on how the "sarcasm spoiler" would work, or something like that.

It could work, but people may feel mildly left out if they can not read certain peoples posts.

It's an idea similar to that, but this one is more globally.

Like I said, It's not like they're forced to have the comments hidden, it's an option that the author of the thread can use.

For example, see how people wanted to ask me about "Showering" and "Shampoo". Those are the kind of example I wanted the member to avoid asking indirectly to my prompt. It also lead to derailment of the topic and cause future problems. (Flame war inbound)

I'm gonna finish it. Just like Jigga did to the pyramid.

I can't think of many scenarios where this feature would be useful so there'd be no point in adding it. However a spoiler tag would be useful. So I suppose that could cover your issue of reading peoples answers. Another method would be to exercise some self-control.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

I like this idea. It isn't bad at all, and I wouldn't mind getting to test it out either
