You know the area in Turf, near the Scarab, that has all the different kinds of ammo behind the box? well, imagine that in each base on any large scale objective map, like Coagulation. Think back to Halo CE. On the last level, remember the armory? well, something like that, but smaller for one thing, for another, no weapons, just a ton of ammo. To prevent an enemy squad from camping in your armory, maybe have a weak but indestructable autoturret in the ceiling, or perhaps a door that only opens for members of the team occupying that base, ie, the armory door in red base only opens for red team members. same exact thing in blue base.
Actually, now that I thing about it, team doors would be a pretty cool addition to the game anyway. they could give defenders handy shortcuts, while anyone attempting to get in would have to take a longer route, or follow a defender inside. Or perhaps each team would have to take a different route through the level to get to the opposing base. It would be an interesting twist, for some levels.
Anyway, the ammo dumps. It would have some power weapon ammo in it, but the ammo would have to respawn really slowly. otherwise someone with a rocket, for example, would have a limetless supply of anti-warthog explosives, making any sort of offense impractical at best. It would have a large supply of small arms ammo (SMG, Magnum, BR ammo) I don't know what to do about covenant weapons; maybe in Halo 3 there will be a way to swap out the power core for energy weapons. Anyway, having cases of Needler and Carbine ammo lying around would be ok. I'm just using Halo 2 weapons as examples btw, I hope there will be plenty of new weapons, and if they implement this armory Idea, I hope they upgrade the contents accordingly.
