Why not stop by my File Share while you're here?

~Long Live Halo 2
Only regret is I didn't play more of it.

If you haven't noticed by now, I'm sort of a jerk.

Pretty sure the average age group is 14-20 (High School through most of college) on the site. However, I think as long as you enjoy coming here, who cares what age you are? Look at RN54 and OPR.

What a hipster.

Too old thread? Excuse to post slightly relative Alzheimer's joke? Check.
Hey I just met you
And this is crazy
And I have Alzheimer's
Hey I just met you...

But actually, age is just a number. You're never too old too enjoy the little things in life, just ask your wife.

But actually x2, Do what you want man, being older you have more of a right to be in a community than you do being apart of the younger crowd.

Don't let anyone tell you you're too old to be part of the community. It's worth remembering that one of our slogans is "We make games we want to play", and there are plenty of guys in their mid-thirties working here. :)

What happen to Gojinn i hope hes doing great his name is Chris. But yeah a passion never dissapears.

I cant believe you still have that awful grammer in the title. You are asking opinions a question about if they are too old to be here? ;-)

Learn to spell, punctuate and the proper use of grammar then critic my posts. At any rate what does this add to the topic again?

Please stay on topic and my thread title is more than legible, good day.

Definitely very false, when I was mythic I was 17-18 (19 now).

If anything I feel too old just because of the way the rest of the forum acts, specifically the Flood because that's the only forum I frequent here. Honestly, most of the topics and comments are immature and just not funny. A lot of the people there can be real jerks, and just indecent towards each other for no real reason. It's like just because they can be jerks means they will, even though any person knows what they're doing is stupid, and that it takes zero extra effort to just be nice to each other.

And I know I pretty much just described the internet, but I'm on the internet just as much as every 19 y/o college guy, and it honestly seems so much worse on the Flood.

There was once a time when I would have been extremely bummed if the Flood closed. Now I want it to, if just to free the good people there from dealing with the asshats.

If we disagree, it's nothing personal, opinions are opinions.
Antagonizing me to build a false sense of worth is so damn cute.

Brighten your day with science.

Key

All the people in here advocating the happy-go-lucky "you can game at any age idea" are ignoring the fact that, on the whole, as a form of entertainment, games are still mainly geared towards and mainly played by kids and early20somethings. "Mature" games actually just throw in as much immature language and gore they can fit on the screen, thus lowering the bar of expectation for the gaming community as a whole as well as the public perception of said community. Because of stuff like this: 30+ year old "gamers" who "game" on a regular basis are looked down on by society as participating on a childish hobby and as still playing with "toys".

P.S. I'm just trying to keep in mind the ideals of the public, non gamer/anti-gamer community. These aren't necessarily my thoughts on gamers/gaming (except for the part about M rates titles).

Life?
I have the internet and Doctor Who; i don't need a life.

you stop being the right age when you stop enjoying it.

As a 38 yr old, I recognize what you're saying. Although I personally have no problem with playing games (Borderlands 2 is my new favorite), I still pause a second when sharing that information with friends and family that aren't gamers. Nobody wants to open up about something their passionate about and feel ridiculed by their peers. I'm sure this is the case with all sorts of hobbies, not just gaming.

ooga booga boooh

There is no such thing as being too old to find pleasure in a video game. The ideas of the games come from grown men and women. They sell us the games. Elders distribute it, and market and control it. Video games are geared towards older people. It's a massive misconception video games were ever intended for youth!

I may only be 22, but after roughly 15 years of gaming, I can't see myself dismissing video games from my life.

I never feel ashamed about talking about my games, I've been doing it since school. In 6th grade we had career decisions, and my goal (which i didn't stick to, at the time) was working for Nintendo. People knew me as the video game kid, but as a jock, I shared a good group of friends they all gamed we shared stories of our accomplishments of current games like secret of evermore. I was just the only one that geared my reports and papers towards games. and had a sick addiction with Link's Master Sword. I always thought I was far more addicted to video games than anyone, but the truth was I was just a piece in a huge puzzle and the older people should be sporting their vid stuff so younger gens don't feel ashamed to do so. another sensless rant :S

Friggin deal with it

This thread really came at a good time. Let's just say that I recently crossed 40 and leave it at that. I was actually starting to feel a little self consience about still coming to this site and these threads. Still gaming strong...

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

I think 20 is still an acceptable age. I have to do something other than college and work...

Sure there is some social stigma occasionally but overall things have changed so chest out and be proud to be a gamer.

I know my 3 year old son already loves that I play his games with him. I see it just like outdoor sports, you get involved and they respond. Only trouble is as he gets older I'll not let him win, he'll have to earn it :)
