Yeah, you're way too old to be here. Anyone above 21 who's on here needs to reevaluate how they spend their time.

Funny thing is I have a family (2 kids), own my family company with my brother (web development & hosting), own my house/cars and have friends of my own as well as family friends for my kids.

I find time to vacation, work, spend time with my kids, do my gardening, nights out to local sports/mates and still I game most nights of the week.

Then again I usually only sleep 5-6 hours per night but I've always been like that. Perhaps you need to re-evaluate your post :)

As long as players/poster of any age aren't addicted and ignore other parts of their life why would an age limit be valid?

Hey I am a big Bungie fan ever since I played Halo 2. I love the series, I love Bungie. I have made a few Bungie logos in my metal shop.

I don't think you can be too old for video games.

Maybe your parent(s) should reevaluate yours.

If it weren't for us older people blowing quarters and tokens in the late 70's and through the 80's like it was our jobs,... buying every new console as they became available, there wouldn't likely be any Bungie or B.net let alone all the games you know of today.

You're welcome!

So we're to old to be on here again why?

17 here, but no one is too old in my opinion.

"Mature" games actually just throw in as much immature language and gore they can fit on the screen, thus lowering the bar of expectation for the gaming community as a whole as well as the public perception of said community. Because of stuff like this: 30+ year old "gamers" who "game" on a regular basis are looked down on by society as participating on a childish hobby and as still playing with "toys".
Meanwhile, on another planet, middle-aged women watch "Real Housewives," Emmy Awards are now awarded almost exclusively to TV shows on "premium" channels that load up their shows with nudity and foul language, and Quentin Tarantino is hailed as a filmmaking genius. Just sayin'

Not attacking you, CrazzySnipe, just pointing out how the perception of video gamers as immature because of the content of some games is incredibly hypocritical on the part of society as a whole.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Take a step back with me and enjoy a taste of the bittersweet that is our current generation.

I enjoy Battlefield and Call of Duty, and Gears of War.

20 years old, manager of my family's business, aspiring officer of the law.

I love anything political.

I still watch cartoons and play video games. So long as that flies, I think I am safe.

I'm 20 almost 21. I fully intend to hang around here as long as Bungie is making decent games or until I die.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

I'll decide when I'm too old, not someone else!

Studies show that men think about sex every 7 seconds. I do my best to eat hotdogs in under 6, just so things don't get weird.

Please allow me to introduce Myself
I'm a man of wealth and taste
I've been around for a long, long year
Stole many a man's soul and faith

I'm 37 and I still game. Hell, I grew up with gaming. From Pong to Wasteland to Mario... all the way to Halo 4. I grew up with games the way previous generations grew up with radio or television.

What a waste....

Well, someone who was 18 at Halo 1's release would be 29 now. Those who played Myth and Marathon would be 30-40.

I am actually probably far too young to be on this site. Well, when I joined I shouldn't have been here.

Most girls I've been with were hesitant about taking it in the mouth. But once they did most would swallow. I got tons of compliments on the taste.

I think it's because of my diet. No fast food, no alcohol and lots of fruit.

Don't let anyone tell you you're too old to be part of the community. It's worth remembering that one of our slogans is "We make games we want to play", and there are plenty of guys in their mid-thirties working here. :)

You want to play Reach?

Awesome movie, I was born the same year it came out. I met a guy here on Bnet that is 70 years old, he is now in a group I'm in and I have played alot of Halo with him. So if you ever think your to old, think again. I think he may be the oldest member here on Bnet? Not sure but it would be cool to find out!

I'm 21 and I don't think you can ever be too old to play video games. Much more interesting than watching tv all night.

Sweet movie and it's funny how many throwbacks to movies like this you see in modern films.

I actually feel the opposite from the majority of the community, OP. I feel like I should be older, considering what seems to be the tendency for the older members to be the most active and informed (inb4 age brings wisdom). I'm only 18, and I feel nearly ashamed of that fact. I feel like I am looked upon as a foolish kid, instead of as a fellow member of the community.

The idea that age is a factor in fandom is a double-edged sword. A lot of the posts in this thread seem to suggest that the elder members of the community suffer the most age discrimination, whilst I feel we younger members are looked down upon more so.

I feel for you guys, it is absurd to suggest that someone is "too old" for video games. Many people manage a life and still find much enjoyment from video games well into adulthood. However, I think age should have no relevance to how a community member is viewed, but instead have their dignity reflective of their quality of posts or support of the community or community facilitators (Bungie, in this instance). Anyone that considers age to be determinate of value to the community are the truly immature ones.

tl;dr everyone's either too old and/or too young to someone

Oh hey there

It's a metaphor for the 07s' lack of identity. too old to be newfag, yet too new to be oldfag, we wander b.net in search of a home, forever trying to be something we are not.

I have been playing video games for a very long time, and I intend to continue playing them until I am much older than I am now.

However there was a demographic shift on the site to a younger group when Reach came out. During the Darkness it has shifted back. At least that is what I can tell from my completely made up scientific analysis.

Here, I made you a helpful chart.
Would you mind throwing some years on the X axis of that chart? Just to sate my curiosity.

Perspective regarding points of view are very important to context and meaning. Your post is more mature than your years suggest, well done.

It's true, on the Internet, everyone is discriminated against :)
