i was getting bored so i tried to imagine how halo 3 would end, theres a lot of story missed out but, here goes....
the flood have spread along way accross the universe, if the gravemind can transport MC to high charity using the halo transporter things, maybe he can transport flood? and maybe the flood could take over a covenant controlled cruiser, like they did to a few pelicans in H2. so what if the last few levels were you (the player as either MC or Arbiter) was having to defend earth from flood. As the gravemind is the controller of the flood, and really wants to stop truth from setting off the rings, then he's probably not in favour of anyone setting off the ark and wiping out, or at least stopping them again. haha! just thought, maybe the ark can destroy things in othe forerunner technology? as the halos themselves weren't destroyed, and that would explain how the flood survived in the halos and the structure which the heretic elite controls. ok back to the last few levels, maybe either the arbiter or MC has to act as a rearguard to a small force of covenant and humans still alive and the longer you can stay alive for the longer you have in the next level? somewhere sometime mentioned the idea of flexible story lines where your result from one level affected the next. maybe the longer you survive for (even if the arbiter does have to sacrifice himself in the penultimate level) in this level allows MC to have longer to active the ark. im not sure why MC might have to fight his way into the ark, maybe its already in control of Truth, but this kind or rearguard action would make a very cool level and would limit the time you had to fight the last level?
