Co-op is taking the easy way out. Get it like a man.

You have 4 options, from easiest to hardest:

1. Co-op a.k.a Cop out

2. Bandanna a.k.a whore the sniper/shotgun

3. Speedrunner a.k.a be extremely lucky

Stop the Grunts from loading, get the Banshee, fly back up and spawn the Grunts, fly up to pulse generator #1.

Once you've made it into the room, ignore the Grunt, take the left path (or grenade jump up to the ledge), run like hell, frag the Jackals, and run like hell again through the hallway, intercepting/running past the 2 Elites. From then on, you're home free with barely any health.

4. Badass a.k.a the action packed way Halo was meant to be played

Stealthily descend down the pyramid, assassinating Elites and Jackals, pwning the Goldie and his Elites with the needler and plasma grenades, then going up the elevator and blowing up the Wraith with rockets (or just snipe the Elite before he gets inside. You can also skip the Goldie and his Elites and drop down from the rock bridge or you can just make a run straight for the Banshee).

After disabling pulse generator #1, fly the Banshee through the mini-blast door, crushing the Elites while narrowly avoiding the fuel rods from the Grunts. Squeeze it through the narrow passage and get it into the next room, fly up to the ledge and get out before it explodes. Shotgun/sniper the Elites then frag the Jackals. Intercept the 2 Elites and you're home free.

Of course, if dying stops you from receiving the achievement, then I suggest turning on Bandanna. It's pretty much the only reliable way to do it Solo.

Not killing Grunts=friendly fire.
Everyone's pretty much in a group on this level, so, duck down and let friendly fire take them out. Is slow and demanding, but, is sound strategy.

They're kind of spread out a bit, despite being closely oriented geographically in my experience. Keep in mind if you speed run, you CAN use checkpoints.

Oh heck yes. I did a lot of weird, jerky stuff to get through it. Leaping down the left side of the Control Center structure after a lot of haphazard "running" to start it off... Then running down the central spine and just hoping to not get jacked...(The beginning took appx. 85,000 tries)
The friendly fire thing was mainly for the corridors/interiors. (You're gonna get rushed by Jackals and nothing is set in stone.) That and a lot of self control. I'd never heard Grunts apologize/deny culpability for friendly fire before that. Thanks 343 !
