Deej can you clear something up please. Do we use a screenshot from the movie and add our own elements (Interface, other stuff, etc...) or do we make the "game screenshot" from scratch?

You can do whatever you want. I am the game publisher. Give me a pitch for a game based on one of the seven movies referenced by the community, using anything but the photos in my Sack.

If I were competing, I would lift a screenshot of a white van being chased by the Feds in a GTA game, and call it the chase scene from Inception. I would paint over the existing skin with a countdown clock for the kick and display a meter for how much blood Ken Watanabe had left in him.

Sorry if I just stole your idea. Have fun with this. Surprise us.

This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends,
This is the way the world ends;
Not with a bang but a whimper.

I see I wasn't totally rejected this time! I feel so important. *Goes back about real life*

This world wants to drag you down... And the weight, that guilt they want to hang around your neck, you don’t have to carry it one more step. You think they won’t let you rest, but it’s not up to them. It never was.

My answer made it into the reverse mailsack.

This makes me feel warm inside.

Yay, my first time being included in the mailsack!

My submission : District 9

(CoRaMo's picture in the mail sack)

That image is from the interior of the light assault mech utilized by the alien as well as Wikus van de Merwe (the film's protagonist and played by Sharlto Copley). As you can see it features a built-in proximity sensor, HUD system compatible with different weapon configurations. The suit also sports a low-level energy shield to reinforce the mech's armor.

Boom.

edit : Here is a model of the mech. We're even supported by Mcfarlane toys

Use a screenshot from a game or movie and add game elements. It has to be about one of the movies in the mailsack.

Okay here it is in simple terms.

The original question was "Which movie would you most like to play as a video game?" 7 community entries were published in the mail sack. Pick one of those movies and think this to yourself.

"If this was actually made into a video game, what would it look like?" Now go make a screenshot showing how you would interpret that. You must pick one of the 7 entries in the mail-sack and you cannot use the photos that are already there. Make something new.

1. View the images in the mail sack related to movies. You have to do something ONLY with those movie titles (nothing else will qualify).

2.Using your imagination you must take an aspect related to that movie and give it a game-like quality.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Reading.
As a spin-off of a quote from a great book, "Darn this creative challenge! Darn all the creative challenges that ever was!"

I'm trying to become an '04, but it's not working too well."

Game: Inception
Format: Third Person Free Roam
Price: 59.99
Developer: Your Mom

While my photoshop does quite literally 0 justice to the game in mind, bare with me here. The image depicted delves into the 'conversational' aspect of the game.

The style in question will go more towards the GTA/L.A. Noire gameplay. The world will be open to roam, but each world will be 'dream level' specific.

1. Gameplay:
The campaign will span multiple dream universes. You will be given instructions to extract certain pieces of material from the subjects dreams. Your team will supply you with information before each mission, giving you places to go and people to speak with. Some people will just give you information triggered by codewords, others you will have to engage in conversation with, saying correct things to get to what you want (L.A. Noire style)

Each dream world that you enter will have pieces of information that you need for the endgame, meaning that all dreams are connected and needed to complete the ultimate objective in the 'real' game world.
Objectives aren't limited by time. While the movie explains dream time, we'd eliminate any sort of time constraint to open up the possibilities of free roam.
After objectives are completed, this dream scape will be added to a memory bank and can be accessed at any time. This would add some re playability in terms of scavenger hunt style objectives, or just going back to free roam certain areas looking for extra clues or information that can be utilized in other dreams.

ex: replaying dream 1 and noticing a newspaper with the headline of 'Remember to call justin about x', jumping to dream 3 to notice everyone using a payphone is having the same conversation about x. Would this necessarily effect the outcome of your endgame? No. Just a fun easter egg.

2. Feature related to the movie:
A. Throughout the movie, we are presented with many tiers of dreams. The first that really comes to mind is when the new architect is being recruited. On the fly, you can select portions of your environment and change them as you see fit. This can be creating bridges, altering buildings, what have you. You just need to make sure that when altering your environment, you are doing it in such a manner that the dream inhabitants aren't disturbed by it.
You may ask 'What exactly does this mean, dmg?'
Alright. Let's say you're taking a portion of your dream world and altering it by 90 degrees. If done too fast, too slow, or not finished entirely before disturbed by an enemy [we'll dive more into that in a second], the dream inhabitants will know something is going awry. People will look at you, bump into you, etc. Anger will slowly rise if your work isn't completed in time.
Another example could be 'building' a bridge by using mirrors, but having said bridge intersect a building. If not angled correctly, you could literally eliminate the bottom portion of a skyscraper. Physics would not allow floating buildings, and you'd be caught for the architect you are and destroyed.

B. Creating Weaponry on the fly -
To balance this out, there would need to be some sort of dream currency. At this point in time, I have no idea how to work that out, but it would eliminate the player 'dreaming up' rocket launchers and ONLY using rocket launchers. More than likely it would be the player approaching a member of the team to obtain a weapon.

>>Can i get a Pistol?
>Sure Thing
>>Can i get a Shotgun
>That seems appropriate for this situation
>>Can i get a Rocket Launcher?
>Too loud. This would completely blow our cover and cause the dream to collapse

3. Enemies
A. Dream Inhabitants - explained above
B. Law Enforcement - This goes into the GTA feel, You're a member of the dream society. If you break laws, you will be followed.
C. Dream Security Teams - Certain dreams will be protected by these enemies. You will constantly be pursued by them, and need to be crafty on how to take them out

All in all, this would just be some crazy ass ride. Would it deal with the same characters from the movie? No. Would it be fun? Maybe.

I'll make some 'legit' screenshots when i have time. I hope you find my initial one comical.

edit- upon further consideration, this would almost be close to an ODST style game. While the dreams would happen in a specific order, the 'Real' world would be your hub, the 'dream' worlds being mission specific but still giving you the option for roam.

Oh man, i think i may end up editing this like 1000 times.
Damn you, deej.
