I have heard of people getting the message only if you are hacking or using a trainer.

What? Play a game? FOR FUN???
This concept of fun confuses and infuriates me!

No, i've used Devtrainer to screw around in campaign with(makes it a whole new game), and I don't get exceptions. If you edited a map on PC, and saved it improperly, you will get exceptions. I know. I've done the same stupid mistake 3 times, because I kept overwriting a map file. Stupid Spark Edit.

I don't edit halo, I like it the the way it is, and I don't hack, I hate hackers. When I Start up the game it gives me a warning that it did not exit properly or something, giving me the option to ether continue anyway or continue in safe mode, if that gives you any clues to my problem.

I believe I've had the same problem as yours. You probably have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed, and there's an incompatibility issue with Halo PC, high-end video cards, and Windows XP SP2. All you need to do is manually install Halo's 1.07 patch, which is located at Halo's website at Microsoft.com.

Download Halo Custom Edition for user created maps!

The few, the proud, the leet.

you get an access violation error if you join a server that is running content the map doesn't have. Such as, if you try to join or start a game that plays a game type not configured within the map itself. Like if you try to join a custom map that didn't have the race flags placed in sapien and play race. There's missing data, so an exception occurs and stops the game.

If you're playing PC then you either hacked your maps or they're corrupt and need a reinstall.

just when I try to get into a server. Would it help if I uninstalled and deleted everything and then reinstalled. I really don't want to do that because it would ruin my save game progress, but I will if you think it would help.

You don't need Gamespy Arcade, if that's what you're saying. I wouldn't install it, because it's filled with malware, spyware, all other bad stuff with the suffix -ware, and cookware that will severely molest your computer.

It's a pretty common annoyance that all H1PC players have to put up with at least once in their H1PC career. I'm not sure, but I think it happens when the program is forced to execute a command that it doesn't have information to complete, usually because of a map glitch or something of the sort.

I would try a full uninstall, reinstall and update if it happens constantly, if not, then I don't think any of us can help you beyond what has been posted here.

it doesent just happen constently, it happens everytime I try to get into a server or get into a singleplayer game. and I even uninstalled, deleted everything, and reinstalled. I don't know what else to do.
