It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

I'd say no as well... I mean, many would purchase simply to stand out/look different, almost as if they were trying to buy seniority, when in reality it's simply money that is enabling the different look.

E-peen effort all redirected to charity?

It's like a magical perpetual motion machine.

Be nice for a breakdown of where the Bungie Foundation money goes. If I am giving away some money that i worked for, id like to know where it goes exactly. And that information should be very easy to get.

Who in the hell would want, need or possibly USE the ability to make 77 new topics in a day?
Troll accounts.

And an elite Scuba Diver i know who once complained that 7 threads a day wasn't enough.

Per Audacia Ad Astra

If anyone were to make 77 threads a day, they have too much spare time or someone is paying them good money to spam the forums.

Wait, what? This is an actual career choice? Why was I not informed?

spartain ken wants to be able to post 77 topics daily and it be normative. Bad Idea.

But really, I wouldn't pay anything for those features. It is basically paying for some type of status here.

Questions lead to learning, learning leads to kowledge, knowledge leads to understanding, understanding leads to peace.

"I would kill to get a killionaire... 10 times... digitally."

You have enough swag to brag about without needing blue text Ken.

Yep

Some forums have already used this idea of donating money to get special stuff. Not what I would like to spend on.

I'm prone to disagree. I'd rather put that money towards the BUNGiE foundation or something.

You know what? I could get behind the idea of a badge, custom title or some other forum perk being associated with that.

With something like a 1 year life on the badge/title and stackable levels for continued/repeat participation/donation.

I like that. It is money, but it is not going to anything but a charity and the reward (beyond the personal reward of knowing that you were charitable) is non-physical and not permanent.
That would be cool. I should donate too.

It would (of course) be an immediate e-peen weapons race. I would suggest the ability to toggle the badge off (in profile settings) when the cries of "look who gets on their knees in front of Bungie everytime Bungie unzips their pants" get too annoying.
I just do not know what kind of people would make fun of people for donating. It would still give people more of an incentive to donate. In the end it would still be a good cause.

Now, in the quantum moment before the closure, when all become one. One moment left. One point of space and time.

I know who you are.

You are Destiny.

- instead of making 7 threads a day, you could make 77
I'm willing to bet that a very large percentage of Bungie.net users hardly utilize the ability to make even a single thread on a daily basis. 7 threads is an actually stretch for the majority -- 77 is just ludicrous.

- Blue text See: Coup.

- Exclusive avatarSee: Coup.

- Exclusive title barSee: Coup.

- Bungie.net email Why should Bungie provide these services when there are dozens of free and popular channels to exchange email? This is just another service that Bungie would have to monitor and build; It doesn't seem worth it.

- Facebook and Twitter integrationI'm expecting this to be
already a feature in the Bungie.next.

I am thinking $7.77 a month is fair. Something cool for Bungie.next. What do you think?$93.24/year for access to some of these unnecessary features seems a bit unfair. As previously stated, Bungie already has a leash around my wallet, I'd rather not have to pay for features I don't want, need, and could easily be garnered through Coup.

Oh yeah, since somebody does not believe what YOU believe; that makes us vapid...
I cannot grasp that what you call "Something happened to nothing, and that nothing became something, and it was smaller than than a period."

Maybe a couple bucks for some more improved features or something, but other than that it would cause elitism.

I'm thinking this sounds like a poor excuse to charge for something completely unnecessary.

  • 09.23.2012 7:40 PM PDT

It's Ken we're talking about here, does he even NEED a reason to pay for this?

No offense Ken, but you would buy a bottle of urine if it had the Bungie Logo on it.

Only thing on that list that appeals to me is the bungie.net email thing.
