Ok, just got a new computer! Its an eMachines T3120, with a PCIe slot. Hooray! Now is this a good card, its just in my price range. I want to play games like FEAR and Prey and games like that. Can this card do this? And also, i upgraded to 2x512mb Corsair RAM. Plan on upgrading to 2gb. What do you think?

The fact that the 7600GS has a 128 bit wide memory bus and DDR2 memory is reason enough to not use it.

Get a 7600GT or better yet, an X1800GTO or XL.

If you plan on getting any new pc games that are being released now, you may want to upgrade. Sell that pc and save up a little more money.

P.S. You could have saved quite a bit of money if you built the pc from scratch. Compare prices at newegg.com to what you have now and the price you've already spent. That and you'll get the exact specs you want. AMD have some drastic price cuts coming soon if you want to upgrade your cpu, check out this link.

7800? which one would you recommend for under $200? I really want to play prey and those kinds of games at max settings nicely. Can you spend under $200 and get a gfx card that can do that? The ABSOLUTE max. i can spend is around $280. PCIe only please.

If you have $280 to spare, then buy the GeForce 6800GS

you can get a radeon x1800XT or a geforce 7900 gt for less than 280, why would you buy such an old card for more?

ok, i just looked all over newegg and i cant find a 7600gt with vga output. i only have a vga monitor. Is there an adapter that comes with the card that converts it to vga?

Also, there is nothing wrong with the x700 pro, trust me. i even installed it for him. what is the equivilant in the geforce series to that? like a 6600?

If you click on the product image you can view everything inside the box. And yes they usually come with an adaptor.

Yeah get the X700 and use that until DX10 comes out. Prices for DX9 cards will drop significantly when that happens.

Get the 6800 GT, it's a great mid-range card, or if you have the cash, go get a 7800.
