Ok, a while ago, my friends came up with a new gameplay type of multiplayer game. It's called giddy. Now, I must give you two warnings before trying it:
1. The game is not at all like a normal Halo multiplayer game, so expect something way different
2. If you play this, it's best to play with 4-8 people, and make sure you trust all the people.
Here's how Giddy goes(I'll just detail the free-for-all version):
the game is almost always on blood gulch, with only the warthog as the vehicle, and only the rocket launcher as the weapon(grenades are optional). Each player has 3 or 5 lives. When we play, we also always have 400% shields, although normal shields works well, too. Everything else is the default setup.
When the game starts, each person gets in a warthog. From here, everyone crashes into each other, hoping to knock someone out of their hog. When someone does get knocked out, he's fair kill, and everyone tries to run him over. His defense is the rocket launcher. He can use it on any vehicle, as long as the player in the vehicle has enough health left to sustain a rocket blast to the hog. Obviously, shooting oncoming hogs buys him time to get back to his hog. But if someone does run him over, well, he's dead and has one less life left. Now, say that two guys get knocked out of their hogs, they CANNOT shoot each other. Players can only shoot hogs, self defense more or less. So the only way you can kill someone is by running them over once they've been knocked out of their hog by rocket or another hog. If someone kills someone in an illegal manner, they take the honorary Japanese approach, and kill themselves. The winner is the last man standing(well, sitting in a warthog).
As you can see, Halo's rules cannot regulate this game, so it's totaly on an honor system, only play with people you trust to follow the rules.
I personally didn't think it sounded fun at first, but once I tried it, I knew it was classic. We usually play about an hour of this "giddy" game at our Halo parties, usually when we're tired of CTF and slayer. I find it to be extremely fun, right up their with Halo's best default game-types.
Have any questions or comments, post'em here.
P.S.: Bungie, did you put it in yet? lol. I mailed you!!!
