Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?
I would have to say it has become a force of habit.
If it were not for private groups, I would have no further reason to darken Bungie's doorway once Halo 3 geared down.

Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, were would you chose to go first?Back to Halo 3's hey day.

Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?Sure. I believe the moderators do a good job of keeping order.

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating? Both.
I absorb more than I post, but I try to post with meaningful content most of the time. As of the past while, that is difficult to do since there is little to nothing in the mains to post about. So, I have to admit, I do post jokes and jabs more often at friends, simply to have some sort of interaction.

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?Mains - 1-2
Private - 3-5, depending on the day.

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?I identify with a couple in the mains, more so in private groups. Those couple in the mains are from private groups.

Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.Memory - A certain guitar playing, man-child getting ultra banned stands out as a highlight. But just the sense of 'community' and all having a common interest(s) does too.

Future - Who knows. I hope the upcoming revisions are well thought out. I also hope the new game is something that revolutionizes gaming and reinvigorates this site, and gets people here playing together collectively again.

Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?

Force of habit, definitely. I only ever show up now to waste my time, and I don't always post because it's tough to find anything here worth discussing. Also see #4.

Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
I'd go back to my first day here, and back further if I can. One, I really enjoyed coming to the site throughout the year or so leading up to Halo 3's release. The discussion concerning every tidbit of information and the number of stories Frankie/Urk posted kept me constantly busy whenever I was here.

Two, I think this is true for any community, it stays tighter and nicer the smaller it is (to an extent).

Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
Sometimes I think the mods are too uptight. I've gotten ticked off by them before. But they do what they do. Crap is taken care of relatively quickly, it seems.

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
It's always seemed that my posts don't get much attention. Kinda why I don't know why I come back. But either way, I take more than I give. I wish I was more involved, because I really am a social person IRL, but it just doesn't work the same on the internet.

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
I don't get around the site much; I stick to the Flood (God know why). But the general consensus is yay everything that being a nerd/geek entails, nay everything popular. I can understand the nerdy geeky side, but the social opposite-ness, if that makes sense, is stifling (and childish, IMO).

Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.
I can't believe I forgot about this; it's in my sig! But a while back the user Fatal_Coin_Vest and I had some back and forth in a thread that was... really funny? Or something, I don't quite remember, but whatever it was we must have really enjoyed it, because then Captain K Mart ended up using his moderator powers to marry us. That was cool.

But in the future I hope we lose some people, preferably the idiots, trolls, and children, and gain a group of people who really care about Bungie's next game and Bungie as a company.

As I said before the pre-Halo 3 time here was really fun (I'm sure it was the same for previous games, too). I would like to see a return to that. I want to talk to people who are ready to get immersed in the story and the new universe. I want people who appreciate the game for what it is, but that also understand this is a labor of love for Bungie, and to appreciate that fact, and appreciate how great the Bungie team is.

It's a long-shot, but I'm hopeful.

Thing is, I'd prefer my threads to be quality over quantity. On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?15 on average, some days it's 50, some days it's 1 or 2. Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses? There is a lot of immaturity on the forums. While I'll laugh at the occasional troll, do some one liners, there is an immaturity that I don't idetify with. A lack of manners, a lack of empathy or understanding. It is a bit of both I enjoy coming here but it is a habit.

Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?
As chaotic as it was the beginning of the Halo 3 era was really fun looking back at it.

Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?
I feel like the current active members and moderators have struck a point where we pretty much all get along and respect each other and the rules. Whilst there is still the occasional trouble it is handled pretty well.

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
For a period of time (mainly due to being banned) I refrained from contributing however I have tried to even it out a bit lately.

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
One to five is about my average.

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
To me this place is a lot like Reddit, the voices of the masses outweighs those of the minority. Thankfully for me I agree with the masses on most things.

My fondest memories are participating in large discussion threads. E.g. Quest for Mythic. The community and forum appears to be heading in a good direction. My hope is that with the release of Bungie's new game, the community stays strong and the interactions from both moderators and employees remains.

We should know better, because we are better.

1. I enjoy coming here. Sometimes you might even find something new.

2. I think I will stay now. Then was not now and I enjoy now.

3. Yup. Never run afoul of the mods for a long time. However, sometimes incidents can go a while without a mod taking care of it.

4. Taking mostly. I give too, but mostly in private groups. Very rarely do I make any threads in the mains and the private groups are only a bit more common. However, if giving=posting, then I give plenty as well.

5. Not very high. Maybe 5-10? Sometimes it spikes, but never very long. Definitely not the kind of person who has a PPD of 100.

6. No. I recognize some members but I rarely find myself associating anything with them. I am sure I can find common ground to stand on, but I forget who stands with me. Does anyone here know me or recognize me?

7. I don't have one.

  • 09.24.2012 3:29 PM PDT

-blam!- Was that actually blammed out? Or did I just type it? You'll never know.

1. Habit. Which I enjoy.

2. The first year I joined, with all those guys and gals that were around then.

3. It's lovely.

4. I rarely make threads, but my posting activity is tremendous.

5. I relate, I like video games. Though less along the game lines of the majority here I think.

6. FastHeadCrab/Hancock's furry threads, the Spandex fiasco, GOWSam's parrot thread, and a couple private groups which are now dead.

It's being moderated splendidly. Other than the title system, there isn't a thing I really have wrong with how things are done here.

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?
I try to give what I can as much as possible, and I guess I just get lost in the masses.

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?
Around 7 posts per day.

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?
I don't feel a connection, but then I do. I do, only because we all share a passion for Bungie, not just games. Other than Bungie, I don't really have anyone here I particularly see liking me.

Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change. All the wonderful information slips and spills back when Halo 3 was about to be released. The anticipation at the time was so amazing, I remember Friday nights were all about getting the next Bungie Weekly Update.

No, you can't have it. But thanks for asking!

I genuinely enjoy coming here on a regular basis. You guys are a fascinating bunch of humans.

Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?

Nah. Here and now is good enough. I entered this site during the Darkness, and it's all I know. I'll patiently await what's next.

Yes. Especially after having met some of the mods in person at PAX. By the way... no lie on that stud test. I saw Foman's girl, and the rest of you could do worse than to aspire to such a lovely woman in your lives.

I'm a lurker, I cannot lie. I'm probably at least one full generation older than most of this site, and that makes for an interesting dynamic when it comes to deciding what posts to participate in. I like to think I donate to the community here and there, and I hope to share much more with you guys when the time is right. Soon(TM).

I probably identify with more of you than those who would identify with me. I'm definitely different (not too many tattooed-combat-vet-geeky-gimpy-mechanic-shepherdesses around after all), but I am home here. I've made a few IRL friends here, and I think the majority of you would be fun to hang with.

Getting attacked by waves of wild B.Netters on Bungie Day, slavering for blood, information, and geomantic keys, all courtesy of a casual remark from DeeJ and the mailsack. You guys broke my iphone. No kidding... between push alerts from Bungie's app, twitter, youtube, and my email address, my phone nearly caught fire at RTX, and I had to turn it off and test my otterbox integrity with some ice cubes. Don't give this community a hint!

I am honestly not sure. Some days its a nice place to spend time and others I leave after reading a couple thread titles.

Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness? Very much so. I feel the current mod team is doing a good job keeping the place neat and tidy while we're dark here.

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating? Nowadays I wouldn't say that I 'take' a lot out of this site, and the only thing I really give back are sarcastic statements and a little help here and there. So, meh.

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be? Not that much. And much less than it used to be.

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses? I like the Bungie games, go figure. Beyond that commonality, I am unsure of my connection with the rest of you folks. We are not on the closest of terms.

Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change. Nothing terribly monumental comes to mind. I've been here for a while and it's just kind of a blur. My hopes for the future are that Bungie's next game and the next iteration of the website are the 2 best things since sliced bread. I suppose I'm also hoping that this place stays awesome once the new blood starts to pile in.

Do you enjoy coming here on a regular basis, or is it a force of habit?yes... but in an addiction sort of way... dont want to miss out on any info Bungie might hint to us on Destiny! they are so mean....

Ready and willing to return to a specific era or time on this site, where would you chose to go first?halo 2 days when they still had the clan rankings up and i could just stare and admire my teams 199th place! you might think thats sad, but out of about 35,000 clans (at the time), thats pretty damn good!

Are you happy with how things are currently moderated and how the site is kept in terms of content cleanliness?no complaints here. you obviously have your trolls and ignorant morons, but just ignore them or wait for the moderators to deal with them

Giving and taking is what this site is about... Do you feel you give equal to what you share in terms of posting content? Or do you simply absorb information and refrain from participating?i dont post too often, but when i do i feel it is significant

On a given day, what do you think your average post amount might be?see above... its that pathetic (but still awesome!)

Nearly everyone here shares a common interest and love for games, and the Bungie Community itself. Do you find you identify with many Members? Or do feel you are extremely different and unable to relate to the masses?i break commonality with the people who started at either halo 3 or reach... those people make me laugh when they say it is a hard game or that they are so good in it...

Share your fondest Memory of this site, and your hopes for future change.an old thread about ranking the halo games as far as legendary difficulty goes was up and i joined it kind of late, but as i read through the posts i noticed everyone having trouble with halo: ce's the library level on legendary. i pitched in my advice and basically changed the form of the thread (unintentionally of course) as people would go play it, succeed and then post back thanking me for the help
