This has baffled me forever; all of the Covenant's vehicles are bright glistening purple, and covered with glowing lights. Why do they make no attempt to camouflage themselves, so that they aren't instantly spotted and killed?
Why do Elites wear bright rainbow colours of armour, why would they denote their highest ranking officers with shining gold armour so that they are easy to spot and take out first?
I mean, perhaps this issue is why the UNSC usually won ground battles :P
Although, I'm not complaining, the vibrancy of the Covenant is part of why I love their vehicles and weapons!
The UNSC was still owned on the ground 98/100 times. Pre-trilogy of course.
*bzzzzzt* Wrong. The UNSC pretty much always won groundside engagements, battles in space were the only times they ever really lost...where did you get that idea?
Not really.
That very famous quote (I think Staten said it) said that ground battles were a tough fight, and even if the humans managed to win (suggesting they didn't do so normally), they would suffer terrible losses.
So no, humans certainly did not have the advantage on the ground, with an exception to the Spartans.
All the Halo games have essentially been about Human victories on the ground, while the Covenant lolpwn everyone from space.
Yet humanity tended to lose most major ground engagements, especially on Harvest in later years.
