Let's not degrade into stupid console wars on this forum. The PS3 is indeed more powerful than the 360, and it boasts several components superior to the 360. However, the most powerful console does not always win. Think about the PS2 - the XBox, GameCube and Dreamcast were all more powerful than the PS2 (at least graphically), but the PS2 slaughtered the competition. A lot of it has to do with brand loyalty, a phenomenon that has been particularly noted in the video game industry. But it also has to do with the fact the PS2 had exclusive titles that everyone wanted, something the PS3 will have to deal without.
Microsoft played this perfectly. They tricked Sony into thinking it had to be technologically superior to win the next generation. How? By constantly boasting better-looking games. The fact that Sony could not crush the XBox into oblivion had to be a blow to Sony's ego, so they decided to build the ultimate machine. The problem: it costs too much, and the 360 has a year head start. Not to mention developers have stated that it is much easier to program and develop for the 360 than it is for the PS3.
Make no mistake, the PS3 will have amazing games and look spectacular. Like I said, though, the PS3 is turning out to be more of a luxury item than a video game console.
