A little bit of sausage, a little bit of hot sauce, a whole lot of awesome. Have a question? Ask me!

K, serious answer time. The answer should be: no. There is a system in place and it's working so why fix something that isn't broken? If you are unsatisfied with a moderator's work then send a PM to a master forum ninja, DeeJ, or Achronos.

The internet is not a country, or even a place for that matter, so therefore there is no Democracy. You reall don't have any rights on the internet.

Don't judge a book by its cover, unless it has bacon on the cover, then it is a good book.

I tried that a long time ago, with no avail. I've read how other people have tried that, with no avail. I would like to see one instance where that has actually worked.
There probably isn't one.

Wanna know why?

Because the mods here are good at their jobs. This forum is very well and very fairly moderated. You wanna see an abusive mod, you go listen to stories about Snacks of 4chan.

If you feel a Ninja has unfairly banned you or in some other way abused his power, you can always contact a Master Ninja. If the Master Ninja is guilty or doesn't care, you can appeal to Urk. If Urk doesn't care, you probably got what you deserved.

I was unjustly permanently banned a few years back (late 08 or early 09-ish). I'll admit, I used to be a big, immature jerk but it wasn't my time to be permanently cut off from the site.

I matured, found myself, and found out how much I loved Bungie/Halo and hated being unable to connect with the broader community. I contacted urk and created a sort of friendship (which was and still is in a way very awesome) with him. After a while he saw the error in the ways with my unjust ban, which was dealt by someone who had a propensity to use the hammer quite intensely, and he unbanned me.

I have been nothing but grateful ever since and I enjoy my time here every single day.

Facebook has rights. Youtube has rights. Why can't we have rights here? It's well known that rights on the internet do indeed work, however Bungie hasn't followed suit.
Because when you sign up, you've agreed to the rules.

"You have no rights, play nice."

This system has worked just fine for years. Besides, even when you have rights, you can still get the boot if you break the rules. If you post dick pics on Facebook, you'll be banned. Post -blam!- on Youtube? Banned. Post -blam!- on Bnet? Banned.

What rights are you speaking of? Explain.

I'm sorry, but I can't take you seriously. Your logic is basically, "The mods make fair decisions all the time, regardless of the circumstances."
That is not my logic at all. My logic is, the moderators have ways to deal with unfair mods, and the community isn't mature enough to deal with that kind of power.

Typically, they do. It's their job to make decisions, just like a judge.

However, Ninjas are people too, and they can tell the difference between someone who deserves to be smacked and someone who just needs to have the line redrawn for them.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Itd be fun.

I like shorts. They're comfy and easy to wear.

I think they should all be put in an arena and forced to fight to the death with wet noodles.

Of course. Certain moderators have clear malcious biases against certain users. I mean just look at bobcast. He has a well documented history of anti-mythic action, indeed right now he is abusing the hospitality of Mythix to stir up all sorts of trouble in the group.

Bobcast is guilty of many mthyic hate crime. If we get the right to vote out mods then hes first to go! ;)

I think this is a good idea. I would like to vote a few ninjas off the island.

Only if we can record all of the voters depositing the name into the box and showing their vote to the camera.

Case and point: don't worry about it. Girls start getting boobies pretty soon, and then you'll have plenty of other things to think about. Being an Inheritor is not a life goal.

A democracy can not sustain itself in a large sense without giving favor towards the majority. I like the way it is. The mods don't have to pander to us to get "elected" to their position and they don't have to pander to us to keep their position.

Fair enough, but the community as a whole have less bias than the ones who appoint the moderator, no?

...Who do you think appoints moderators?
